Will the Model Y come with MCU3?

With the Model S/X refreshed getting rid of the Intel-based CPU, when do you expect the 3/Y to get the new AMD chips with NAVI23?

Most likely yes. Model Y and Model 3 both sell well over 80,000 deliveries in a quarter. Limiting the new abilities to just S/X which combined only sell 20,000 or less.

With Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 launching next month, I’d say by March/April is new MCU

Tesla upgraded MCU 1 to MCU 2 in March 2018. For Model 3/Y I can see the same thing happen

It turns out it wasn't an MCU retrofit. It's still MCU 2, but with a dedicated AMD NAVI23 Graphics card. So it is still running on a Intel Atom CPU.

Its mostly graphics power, not really computing power.

Yeah my 2.5 crashes quite a bit when I'm steaming YT Not sure what the cost of doing GPU upgrade would be?

Since both Model 3 and Y have the same single MCU screen, I would have to guess that the GPU upgrade would be at the same price as next gen consoles. ($500). The PS5 comes with 10TFPs of GPU power at $500, Tesla can charge that same price.
