What evidence do we have that the P85D's top speed limitation will be changed in firmware 6.2?

None. We've been told that it would be in a future firmware update, and 6.2 is a future firmware update. However, there's been no discussion of the speed update being in 6.2 that I'm aware of.

Yah. I thought I saw that too, that's why I went back to that link to find it. Interesting...

Also interesting that the "P85D Top Speed" part of that capture wasn't in bolt. Perhaps that's a symptom of an editorial misstep including it in the 6.2 list.

I hope it comes along soon enough... I've got some track days in mind this summer! :)

I just noticed that Model S Design Studio | Tesla Motors has the top speed asterisk only on the P85D. Similarly the commentary for the asterisk specifically calls out the P85D configuration.

Does the 85D currently allow 155mph (with 6.1)?

Unfortunately, it was raining at the track on Sunday. I was hoping to find out then. ;-)

Ah, no - fine print at the bottom of the page states that the P85D is currently electronically limited to 130 mph, with an OTA in the coming months to up it to 155.

It did mention it, but they removed it for some reason (as I said in the other thread)
    exactly.

Well, it didn't happen in 6.2 but it seems they've dropped the asterisk on the top speed line on the Design Studio page...

They don't. Only the (S)85D has a 155 mph top speed.
"The top speed for P85D is now 155 mph" was mentioned in the press release, but they quickly removed any hint of it soon after.

    Fixed in 6.2 (2.4.153)

Now I just need to find a place to test it :)
