Will using a regular outlet eventually wear out and burn by garage down?

... Also attempted to charge on an old 120V outlet at parents house once, didn't work well, Tesla complained of heat on the plug (they have a heat sensor on the connector whew!), which turned out to be due to a poorly gripping receptacle.

It is a good point. One of the reasons extension cords are not recommended is that the heat sensor on the plug can only detect a problem between it and the extension cord. It can't detect a problem at whatever the extension cord is plugged into.

Another vote for Hubbell outlet. I'm using one for a 14-50 connection. I have an extra charging cable so that one stays plugged in, even though I used a high quality outlet just in case.

Best,

Is it safe to keep the charger cable that comes with the car plugged in all day?
I am currently renting a place and aren’t able to install a level 2 charger.
Right now I am using a dryer outlet to charge the car.
Daily I am unplugging it every morning and taking it with me.
