Anyone know which is more efficient in an EV?

Would rolling down the window on the highway be less/more efficient than running the air conditioner?

Anyone have any concrete factual opinions?

It is highly dependent on speed. At 40 open the windows at 65mph you are normally better with AC.

Myth Busters found that using A/C is more efficient at highway speed, but then their testing methodology is often flawed. I think they might have been accurate on this one though.

Yeah...so no. No concrete factual response here. lol.

I imagine comfort will be a factor too... I close the windows when speeds pick up (55mph+?) or the noise and wind becomes uncomfortable.

    Best two choices are

1- Fresh Air thru the vents with your windows closed (closed windows better aerodynamics
2- Air Conditioning with your windows closed - same reason as above

How do you decide? based on your comfort level. If fresh air is OK - lowest energy use.

Tesla clubs could run some actual road tests? Is the difference even measurable by mere owners?

Open windows are fine/great when aero doesn't matter ~< 50 kph - like when site seeing in parks.

    Thanks everyone.

I'm looking more or less for how each option affects range in an EV.
