I had a cable break in my driver's side door. This resulted in the window getting stuck down.
I took the inner door panel off and found basically an Elise regulator.
I found a very helpful thread at lotus talk forums on how to repair this.

My only additional notes are to use a sharpie to color one or the left cable and to color the left mechanisms to keep the cabling straight.
It worked great otherwise and was a $10 fix to a $600+ dollar problem.
