Window tinting questions, costs, and pics

I ended up just doing the sides and entire back window. I don’t really regret it since I can always do the front later if I really wanted to, and I wasn’t intending to do anything dark anyways and was more to complete the look. I believe stock auto glass generally incorporate abilities to block UV rays even if it’s not tinted.

I just picked mine up. 35% everywhere, 70% on the windshield.

Tint World in Dallas charged $550.00 for ceramic tint. Limo in the back and legal in the front. It was 499 for the windows and 50 for the little strip above the windshield. Very happy with the tinting work.

SunTek CIR - 80% windshield, 20% sides and back…nothing on roof. Torrance, California - was $875. I also use a Covercraft Car shade. Car is parked with NO shade in Anaheim, CA for work. Through 90F sunny days this past week, cabin overheat only had to kick on once per day.

Just to show the fitment of the windshield shade.

Added some other shots that show a before/after thing.

Been on the fence for a while as I really dislike the look of the car without privacy glass! Just looks old and dated as it’s expected on premium cars. I understand it’s to do with US different state laws but this hasn't been a prob for other manufacturers?

So I’d love to hear and see pics from those that have it done. Don’t see a problem on side windows but it’s hard to get a factory look on rear as it looks more aftermarket against the heater elements.
also understand it is a specialist job to avoid problems with the rear glass breaking?

thanks

Thank you.

Concours Auto Spa! Doug is the owner and great guy to work with. Their Torrance Shop is on Van Ness and Del Amo. They also have a Marina Del Rey shop - but I wanted to be able to ride my Onewheel to get home and when I had to go pick it up.

I did the Tint and Full PPF Wrap. They do have a "combo package" for Tint / PPF / Ceramic Coat - but in the end, you are still spending more $$ for more services. No pressure on sales and stuff. Very cool. Their Tesla Resumé and Experience is one of the best in our area.

Really was hoping new model would have an option for rear privacy. This is the only reason I didn’t buy older model and looks like Tesla have stopped me again.
I know it’s something to do with certain state laws but the lack of this really ages the car and looks awful without it.
Shame
