Window tinting

Hey everyone

I’m picking my my black MYLR on Friday. Car goes in for tint and PFF on Saturday. Can anyone post some pics of their car with tint? I’m just trying to figure out what percentage to get on all the windows.

Xpel prime plus 20% front 50% front windshield and back windows (make sure to request to do the rear window as one piece)

Dropping mine off tomorrow for xpel prime plus. 70% on windshield and rear windows, 35% on the front windows. I'll post pics when I get the car back at the end of the week. Also having PPF and ceramic, hence the long wait.

Sorry not the best angles on these pics but it gives you an idea. I got 20% front windows and 50% windshield/rear window. The 20% matches well with the rear windows.

With the white interior the 50% is fairly subtle depending on lightning conditions and not too much different than the factory tint on my GFs Landrover. 70% would be pretty unnoticeable with the benefits of heat and glare reduction. No issues with visibility with the 50%.

Windshield: 45
Front: 5
Rears: 20
Roof: 70

Just curious, why the 5 on the rears? Wouldn’t that make the rears even darker than the fronts due to the rears coming with 24%? I’m curious how even the front and back look…

i should of worded that better. the guy matched to the front 5%. dunno what he did. they look they same on the outside.

I did 70% on all. rear seats and rear windshield already pretty dark with factory.

Is it "SAFE" to tint the roof of a Model Y ?

Has anyone actually had a crack in their personal tinted Model 3 or Y Roof, or is this an "urban legend"?
I had no problems in 2 years on a 2020 M3 in Phoenix, AZ; and now I want to tint my 2022 MYLR.
So, is it safe?
