Window tinting

Please do not be tempted to tint the front door windows as this will almost certainly, sooner or later, cause you to be stopped by the police and could potentially (depending on how dark the tint is) land you with a £100 fine and 3 points. Tints on the front windows and windscreen must allow 70%, minimum, of light through and this includes whatever Tesla uses as standard. Does anyone know what that is?

From this link Tinted vehicle windows: the law - GOV.UK

The rules for tinted front windscreens and front side windows depend on when the vehicle was first used. There are no rules for tinting the rear windscreen or rear passenger windows.

Vehicles first used on 1 April 1985 or later
The front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows must let at least 70% of light through.

As standard it's certainly tinted, but only a lightly. There is no visible marking I could find on the glass that tells you.

The only possible clue is on the windscreen which has a marking showing where the "sun strip" ends of a 15 and an arrow on it pointing to the main bit of the screen. To me this suggests a 15% tint. The main part of the windscreen is similar to the side windows, so an educated guess at best.
