Windshield cables?

This is a picture of the front-bottom-right corner of the windshield from the interior (passenger side). I've never been in the passenger seat for a period of time until recently. I noticed some cables or wires and this is the best shot I could get of it.

Does anyone know what these are for? (I'm guessing maybe wiper heaters?)

Also, should these be visible?

Do you have the winter package? Looks like it may be a defrost strip to keep the wipers from freezing to the window.

Yes. That was my thought but wasn't sure.
