Windshield wiper fluid

Is there an optimal brand that I can get from Canadian Tire or a gas station thats not RainX? I believe it shouldn’t have any additives?

Not on a Tesla but I found the PetroCanada product was excellent for removal of smearing due to oil/etc.

I’ve been using Petrocanada washer fluid for a couple years with no real issues. No real reason beyond they were on my route to work when I needed to top it off.

The Reflex brand they carry seems to work well.

The stuff from Costco works fine too. The important factor is the effective temperature.
Also sometimes there are plastic shavings from the container cap opening in the fluid. This could jam the washer pump. I had this happen recently and had to replace the pump. Now I refill the washer tank with a funnel and a micro fiber towel draped over it as a filter.

I have been using the Costco stuff (4 bottles in a box) for years. Works great both in Montreal and Toronto winters. (And all year round)

RainX worked well for me for over a year.
I switched to the cheaper Reflex brand and the windshield is just as clean but the wipers now chatter. Will be switching back.

I second the CTC Reflex brand. This one in particular. It’s rated to -49 and comes in a large 9.5 litre bottle. I use the big bottle to fill a couple smaller ones:

Reflex brand is very cost effective and never had any complaint about it on my end.... ALSO! Don't forget the blinker fluid, need lots of it during the winter months hehe
