Winter Tire waiting room

I thought I was getting a jump on things by ordering my Aero Winter tires in September. It’s getting a lot colder now, who else is waiting on wheels to come in?

Tire stores book their winter tire orders in May and June. Then the factories ramp up to make them in July through September for the popular sizes, the less popular sizes are made later. Shipments generally start in October.

I ordered and purchased my winter tires about a week after I picked up my Model 3 back in July. I *really* didn't want to get caught up in the annual rush that seems to kick in.

I get my tires put on by Costco every year.

The days of going in at 5 or 6AM and waiting in line are over. They're doing appointments only now, unless you're a lucky one or two person a day.

I made an appointment, then was told by work that they're sending me out of town this week. So I was one of those lucky one or two people to stand in line.

I have my winter tires on a second set of Aero rims. I can do them myself in the driveway. I did so the day after thanksgiving, which I thought was a bit early. Turns out it wasn't.
