Winter Tires in Denver

Picking up my M3 SR+ on Thursday. I was considering getting some dedicated winter wheels/tires put on soon after, but I'm wondering whether I can get away with the stock all-seasons this winter for a couple of reasons:

1. COVID has meant I'm no longer commuting every day, so I have more selectivity about when I drive (i.e. no requirement to drive during a bad winter storm).
2. Wife and I have an SUV that has fared well with winter the past few years, so if we ever do have to drive somewhere in bad weather we have that as an option.

I'm curious though how people have found the SR+ in winter outside of snowy/icy conditions; are the stock tires still manageable in the cold, or did you find you had to switch to dedicated winters anyway?
