Wiper blade replacement in Canada

Been meaning to post this but wanted to finish my testing before doing so. I tested a few different aftermarket wiper blades for the Model 3 and here are the results with prices.

The cheapest is going with the Bosch Evolution's and modifying it, but the direct fit option isn't too much more with the Bosch Clear Advantage. If you don't want aftermarket, the OEM wipers aren't too bad considering it's from the factory.

Direct Fit Options:
Tesla Service Center - OEM
$29/each side

Bosch Clear Advantage 19CA - #6 adapter AND C shim removed

Since you mentioned the Trico, if someone is looking for them you can buy them at Napa under the Napa brand. They would be Napa Exact Fit.

Just looked at Napa Canada Website and there is 3 models currently available for Model 3.

Napa Exact Fit (Trico)
Trico Tech
Trico Ice (Winter wipers)

Bosch Icons 26OE and 19OE work as well, but you do need to do a very slight modification on the plastic clips that come with them. Just cut one side of the outer clip housing off (15 second job with knife) to accomodate the Tesla factory windshield washer housing that are attached to each arm. Very easy to do and the Bosch Icons are great wipers.

The Costco blades do fit, there is however an exception. The long blade comes with the adaptors that fit, the short one doesn't.

So make sure you buy two long and one short. Save the long one for the year after.

Alternatively, I believe the package says you can reach out to an email to have the right adaptor ships to you.

I tried them before you posted this, and by chance happened to try the shorter one first.
I realized the adapter wasn't right and then repackaged it for return. Wish I knew that the larger one had the correct adapter. And that's a great idea.

Now I'm not sure if I should go back and buy them again or look for an online alternative.

I installed the Bosch Icon 19OE and 26OE from Canadian Tire. I used the included adapter #4 (removed the pre-installed adapter) and cut a bit of plastic off the adapter with a utility knife where the spray nozzle is. They work well.

I have been buying these--> https://www.amazon.ca/Wiper-Refills...(Set+of+4)&qid=1579924780&s=automotive&sr=1-1

They are 6mm inserts and fit the Model 3 wipers perfect. You get 4, enough to do the wipers twice for $19.99 cdn. They might will work on a Model S too. I like the idea I get to reuse the old wiper frame, they are cheaper, I keep the OEM wiper, no screwing with adapters and clips, etc. I have also bought the same for other vehicles from Canadian Tire. I don't know if they still carry them.

They are fairly easy to install.

Unclip the end. I use a couple very small flat head screw drivers to pry it off. Be careful not to break the clip.

After it is un-clipped the sleeve holding the metal rails can be slid off. Both sides are different so keep them sorted. After both clips and sleeves are removed the old insert can easily be removed and the new one put in. Then slide the sleeves on their respective sides and them put the clips back on.

I have done this twice now. I am very happy with the results. They work as new.
