The final cut of the 8th episode of the Tesla Motors Club Podcast, featuring Balazs Biro, of the prominent Hungarian EV channel Villanyautósok, is now available. You can watch it now on YouTube or listen to it on all major podcast networks.
In service mode, you can freely move the arms through their arch, its a hidden 'feature'. So move them to a point you are happy with and then check if you can stand them up without damaging the hood or remove the wipers from the arms and gently prop up the arms by some other means (fishing line, etc) so they dont contact the glass.
PSA - Ironically, ceramic coating the front windshield glass may have detremental effects on wiping performance and or chatter, squeaking when the wipers operate. Some also apply some of the coating to the wipers themselves, others swear by switching to silicone wipers and coating those, others still strip the glass of anything and everything, apply some glass wax and mechanically buff that in an attempt to restore silent operation. Mixed results. YMMV.
As an alternative, consider glassparency or spray on short term nano/ceramic coatings that work for glass and/or film if you are after protecting the glass from pits, nicks, chips, sand blasting and scratches and especially if the car barely ever stays dirty or sees faul weather.
Else just budget to change the windshield every few years on these things. More than on other cars, here its very much a wear and tear item.
