Wireless Charging w/ Iphone 12 pro max

Hey all,
Anybody having issues w/ the wireless charging pads & Iphone 12 pro max (or higher)? She has an Otterbox Symmetry case.
My wife doesn't think it is consistently charging. Is the phone/case too big?

I have an Iphone 11 w/ an Otterbox Commuter, I haven't noticed any issues.

The Pro Max's size might be the issue. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and was finding the wireless charging a hit'n miss thing. I read on other boards that people with Pro Max iPhones have found that putting the phone upside down works... and it does. Also, you may want your wife to change to a thinner case as Otterbox cases tend to be thicker.

I have a 14 Pro Max and it would not charge with the first case I bought. I had to switch to a slimmer case and now it works fine.

I gave up and bought the JEDA wireless charger and it works flawlessly with my iPhone 12 pro max with the same case as yours.

No, normal orientation works fine with the thinner case.

I have a pretty modest case on my 13 Pro Max which has always charged fine.

My wife has to turn her 12 Mini upside down.

had the same with my iPhone 11 Pro max with a very thin silicone case. Now a iPhone 14 Pro with a OEM apple leather case and no issue

2022 Model Y AWD:

iPhone 13 Pro Max with Apple leather case will not charge reliably - if I get it in exactly a precise spot it might start charging, but quits after a few minutes (possibly because if it moves even one millimeter while driving, it disconnects from the charger). Same exact behavior with iPhone 14 Pro Max.

iPhone 12 Mini won't charge even though it has no camera bump, as it sits about an inch too low to trigger charging.

This is all really annoying as it makes the feature completely useless for me.

I have 14 Promax with slim case but won't charge. I think it's due to the cameras being too high. So I charge the phone upside down and it works.
