Wiring dashcam - no power on the connector in mic gril??

I'm going crazy, my car doesn't seem to have power on the intrusion / tilt sensor connector in the microphone grill

I used a multi-meter and a test light and neither return anything for any of the wires in there

Has anyone ran into this? Is it a blown fuse perhaps?

This is for a model S, right? (Asking because your picture is a model 3).

The photos are most definitely Model S. You can see the air vent. ( oh you meant the avatar, nevermind)

Not all MS has power up there, it was intermittent — most do, but many don’t. I forget the models/years that don’t, but I thought for sure it was back for 2016.

You may have to run power from the OBDII port. (very easy).

For the model S, the fuse for that connector is F100 and is a 5 amp fuse in the fuse box at the front of the car underneath that plastic cover.

My fuse must be valid because the rain light sensor is on the same F100 fuse ! So it's still strange to me why the intrusion module connector in the mic grill doesn't output any power...

Same issue for me and I’ve searched the forums and online. I actually got a spark at one point so I feel strongly that it had power, but for some reason the dash cam wasn’t responding. No multimeter obviously. I pulled fuse F50 5amp and it had been blown. I replaced it with another 5 amp but no luck. F50 is for the intrusion feature (alarm), which is what the unswitched power source is meant for in the mic bezel.

Total mystery, like most things unsolved on this car.

I'm not aware of any intrusion connectors that don't have power (unless the fuse is blown). There are two other connectors in the microphone panel for each microphone. Neither of those has any power. There are a few North American Model S in the 2014-2015 era where the intrusion connector is taped up inside the headliner wire bundle and is very difficult to extract. The 3rd and 4th pictures in my article show the connector very clearly: Dashcam Power Cable – TeslaTap.
If you are using the correct connector and pins, and the fuse is good, and still no power, then it may be a factory wiring error. I've never heard of that but I suppose it might be possible.
