Other manufacturers would then be marginalized. By further exploring the numbers that Tesla hinted at during Battery Day, we realized that the company has massive plans for further expansion of electric vehicle production. The basic forecast is that Tesla will produce on its own some 10 GWh of batteries in 2021, 100 GWh around 2022, and 3,000 GWh (3...

Grid storage should not be underestimated. The only thing that has been holding that sector back is price. If price comes down enough, growth could be huge.

There is also a possibility that Tesla would sell batteries to other companies (perhaps not for light vehicles, but potentially for busses and heavy equipment, or even airplanes.

Tesla intend to make 30 million cars pa within 10 years! Unless Tesla take very significant steps to provide competent service support, a very large percentage of their production will stand in fields waiting for buyers.
As an owner of a Model S P90D for over 4 years, an amazing vehicle, I will never buy another Tesla unless they make dramatic changes.

If Tesla really believed these multiyear forecasts they would be overbuilt today for service infrastructure. Yet Tesla doesn't have the infrastructure to adequately serve the tiny percentage of the auto business they have today.

They are planning to build and sell 2 times as many vehicles as Toyota and Volkswagen combined

Toyota Motor Corp. said it sold 10.74 million vehicles around the world in 2019, trailing Volkswagen at 10.97 million vehicles.Jan 30, 2020

Yep. The numbers in the OP make no sense.

And, Toyota and VAG have a full line of automobiles, not just niche vehicles in specific segments.

VW AG doesn't sell many in the US but yeah, they sure are large worldwide w/some brands that don't exist in the US or that consumer may not be that familiar with as some are for commercial vehicles: Brands & Models of the Volkswagen Group.

I'm not even sure Tesla can achieve 30 million cumulative production in 10 years, let alone 30 million vehicles PER year in 30 years. Forget about 10 years.
