World Map of Model S Reservation Holders

Here's the current geographic breakdown of entries on the WikiMap. The big change from last update is the surge of reservations in Europe, particularly Norway. There are 531 EU entries, of which 285 are in Norway! By comparison, California has 297 reservations marked. If you think that Silicon Valley is lousy with MSs, it will pale in comparison to Oslo. I have been approving Norwegian reservations at a faster pace than US entries, so I predict that by the end of the quarter, Norway will have overtaken California.

Hi, and thanks for managing the wikimap. I registered a marker before I got my P1882 EU number, so marker's saying P ?? for my location. Can you update this? My location is just north of Lier, Norway. Thanks!

I was very suprised when I saw the map.
Netherland, Norway and Switzerland so much reservation.
And Germany, only a few.

I feel a little bit embarrassing to see so low reservations in Germany.

But there are two reasons for this:
1. the big general car lobby. No German car brand have an EV in the portfolio.
2. we have no benefits from the government. Only the gernal car tax is free until 2025 (for a normal ICE car this are only round about 100 € per year).

I am not happy with this situation.

Opel has the Ampera!

But I get wat you are saying. Germans love their big cars and they don't see the Model S as an alternative.

The Ampera/Volt sold very less as well.

The people say "a Opel for 50.000€" what the hell for this is can have an BMW, Daimler or Audi.

Too much prestige thinking, Tesla is a brand what is totaly unknown for German people, hopefolly Tesla will change their mind.

My current EU P1088 is wildly incorrectly placed for some reason. I just submitted a new one with correct placement, the old one should be deleted or moved to the correct position.
Thanks -- the map software has the really unfortunate property that if an administrator (me) accidentally grabs a pin while trying to scroll the map, there's no "undo" to restore the pin location. That's probably what happened to yours.

The same for Italy. In Italy people don't think that an electric car can fully replace an ICE car.
From this point of view it would be very useful a Supercharger Network in Italy. I think that a Supercharger Network covering all Italy (I think at least 10 Superchargers would be needed in Italy) could make Italian people change their mind on this matter.

Are in Italy any subsidization available?

I think that without any subsidization (e.g. some cash or a big tax benefit) it will be very hard to sell a certain amount of EVs.
Look at Netherlands or Norway, very big amount if Hybrids and EVs due to very big subsidization and benefits when buying one.

Best thing you can do is buy an S and show them it is a perfect alternative for a BMW/Merc/Audi....
And shortly BMW Will have the 100% electric i3.....
