Would an aero wheel cover for the 20” performance wheels make sense?

Aero snap on pieces. If you look inside of the 20" wheels, there is a ridge inside that looks like a provision for some sort of snap in attachment.

T-LD1 Forged 10 Spoke Wheel

TITAN 7 T-LD1: Titan 7 is a wheel company that doesn’t just strive to do things differently, we do it with logic and purpose. One prime example is that we tailor each fitment car specific. No secret code graphs and charts – We took it to the next level with the T-LD1 by producing a fully forged wheel that is not just limited to low weight and strength. In order to achieve the best efficiency, we addressed aerodynamic efficiency in order to give the best chance for the best miles per charge in a large diameter wheel. We designed a large amount of surface area to reduce drag while painstakingly machining the inner spoke to reduce as much weight as possible while keeping the wheel strong. We’re serious about performance and we want to do our part in providing positive products for the Electric Vehicle market. We invite you to experience what “Forged For All” is really about.

The problem with 17's is finding XL rated tires and clearing brakes.
The tires can be found, the rims remain a myth even for the base calipers.

Or I'd have a set already.

On expectations of drag reduction, extrapolated from efficiency numbers between different tires it is likely you'd at best see %2-3 improvement. That's all you see with with and without the caps on the stock 18"

If you look at the difference in cross-sections between the factory 18" wheels and the 20" wheels you'll see that there is quite a bit of difference in the shoulders of the tires themselves. You can see this is the substantial difference in spec tread width between these tires, too.

It isn't the tire compound, either. When I switched to 18" Michelin PS4S on the stock 18" rims it was pretty much indistinguishable range economy. You'd have to do a very controlled, head to head, to try see a difference and which is better is likely a matter of how they are being used. The PS4S has superior grip, so if you're driving in a way, at speeds, that can cause tiny bits of slippage on the MXM it'd probably give the nod to the PS4S.

Why this result? If you look at the cross-section of all 3 tires you'll see rounded shoulders on both the 18" tires in contrast to the squarer shoulders of the 20".
