I'm being somewhat off-topic, but speaking of discontinued items sold on eBay, I've been eyeing for several years an electronic accessory for Yamaha grand pianos, $1500 new from Yamaha dealers but hard to order unless you had original purchase receipt for the piano.

One popped up last week, I was the first bidder and hoping maybe to get it used for half off retail. Well, I come to realize Yamaha discontinued the unit two years ago, with no newer replacement unit. Final winning bid: $5600 missing cables and remote for something that was originally $1500 new....
