WTT: 18’’ Black Martian Wheels for Gemini wheel and tire package St Louis MO

Hi all,

Anyone interested in trading their like new Gemini take offs for these Martians? They are approximately 9-10 months old (bought in September 2021). I contacted Martian Wheels and they said they are interchangeable with Model 3 or Model Y. They are in brilliant condition in my opinion. The insides are dusty but wiped face w soft cloth and water so could see easier. I would be looking for Gemini wheels, tires, and TPMS.

I’m not sure, what would be fair? I guess theoretically I could sell them outright and wait until someone had a takeoff set and buy those.

The other option I’m looking at is waiting for Michelin tires to go on sale at Costco and just use these wheels. I had heard Geminis had more range just because they have the aero covers vs Martians.

I have a set of Aeros with one wheel with a small rash, less than 1/2" surface at the edge. They currently have Nokian Hakaplata R3 winter tires on, but I am in Seattle area.

TLDR- Selling Martians for $1450 and just getting someone’s Geminis. It’s not worth the hassle.

Well bummer of a day, ordered 235/55/18 Michelin pilot sport all season 4s with Costco sale. Took my car there just now and the tech wouldn’t mount them. I showed him the paperwork that Martians fit a MYP but he said it’s going to totally change driving dynamics. He called his manager and his manager said if they are same rough diameter and load rating to put them on. I left and got another call from them that their wheel weights were too thick and he didn’t want to do it. He did offer some “static” balancing option were he would move the weights to middle of rim but he said it could lead to terrible ride and he strongly advised against it. At this point I was pretty much done and just had them put my 21’‘s back on.

Nice enough guy just wish someone else with a Performance had been first and worked all that out. I’ve never heard of wheel weights interfering with caliper so not sure there. I saw it mounted on rim just fine, he said the weights would hit caliper.

I purchased TSportline 18" wheels for my model 3 performance. I was also concerned the weights would hit but they don't. I would take the wheel to a local tire shop and have them fit the wheel on the hub and check the clearance.

I think I’ll just sell them and wait. Worst case maybe the 4680’s out of Austin get a Performance variant and it’s financially feasible to swap this car for one of them (just wish mine came with all season Michelins and I’d probably just live with 21’s) Til Cybertruck or Austin Model Y In a year or two.
