What would be a reason/incentive to buy before Tesla warranty runs out [so far ahead of time]? Would end users make more sense base on their experience to buy towards end of 50k ?

I bought it for my P3D when I had less than 5k miles because it was much cheaper ($2,900). The rep told me if I waited then it would go up hundreds of dollars. I played around on the quote tool on their website and played around for S and X (they didnt have older 3's obviously) and that validated what the guy said. The lower the mileage your car has, the cheaper the extended warranty. so yeah, I pulled the trigger.

My quote is

$3500 for 5yrs/125k

I have a 2018 model with 22k on the odo. That was my only option. Wondering what quotes high mileage Tesla’s are getting.

You really don't have to guess - just fill out the form again. Here is my quote. Expired warranty due to mileage. Still considering - but I've really had no major repairs and am not experiencing any issues currently.

Note - this is my S. I have't tried for our 3.

Problem is with 25k miles per year these really don't last that long.

The S has (had?) a special discount price the first 90 days. Then same until basic warranty expires. I think it was $300 discount but not sure.

For anyone curious about how pricing changes, feel free to use our Instant quote tool on our X-Care page. You can also purchase directly online as well, all you would need is a recent picture of your Tesla "T" pop-up screen and instrument cluster ready to upload. This is how we validate the VIN and miles on the car we are covering.

@X-Care EV, when I put in >30k miles for a 2018 Model 3, your form returns, "Sorry, there are no coverage options for a vehicle with that many miles." When I put in >30k miles for a 2017 Model 3, however, it returns several different plans. Is this a mistake?

We are working on pushing out more term options for new(ish) higher mileage 3s as we speak. We do have the terms, so in the meantime, feel free to input your info here and someone from our team will reach out with options for you.

My Model 3 isn't actually past 30k mile yet. I asked the question to confirm that I'll have the option to purchase coverage after 30k miles.

So priced my 17 MX with nearly 50k miles on it...

Way too high....

I'm considering the tesla warranty which is about 5k for additional 4 years and 50k miles.

So this is EXACTLY apples to apples.

I would NOT buy a 3rd party unless it's thousands cheaper.... Well maybe at least ONE thousand lol.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also given my experience with tesla. 5 days of loaner coverage is not enough to be comfy. And it only covers $40/day.
So I'm going to give in my $100k model x and rent a corolla??? Nah!

Just of note.
My model x has been in shop about 20-25 days over last 2 years and 45k miles.
Not sure what the money number is on repairs but it's high.

No way in he'll I'm keeping this car without a warranty!

It’s hard to make a decision on purchasing extended coverage on a Model 3 because at this point virtually every Model 3 owner is still within warranty so nobody has gone through the experience of filing an out of warranty claim with this company. Once this begins to happen and we get some feedback it will be something to consider for sure. The pricing certainly seems reasonable as long as it really covers everything that it says it covers.

I take it back.

If it's the ONLY option for extended coverage, yes I'd consider it. Not an issue for model x until 100k or 8 years.

Seems this company may be a viable option once all oem tesla warranty periods are over I guess. BUT they don't seem to be idiots, and I'm sure the price ain't gonna be cheap.
