X: What's your 90%?

They do. Every car goes through a dyno test shakedown right out of the factory. On top of it, delivery during the winter and summer will include some high Wh/mile because they will be moving the car around slowly with the AC or heat running, which also makes for some super high numbers.
 
I just came back from a 5500 mile roadtrip in my X 100D. I often set the limit to 90% SOC so if I'm at lunch or overnight I don't stay at high SOCs.
This lets me see a pretty consistent value for 90% of about 264.77 to 265.07. Below is from www.TeslaFI.COM .

Below is the estimated 100% SOC that www.TeslaFI.COM Battery Summary report. I'm pretty happy with the 'degradation' so far even after a number of SuperChargers on roadtrips.

When new, the rated 100% range was 470 km (292 miles), typical was 372 km (231 miles), converted to 90% that gave 231*0.9=208 miles, 91% of the average US P90D delivered at about the same time according to goneskiian. This seems very low, was it abnormal?

Today, after 40000 km, 100% rated range is down to 446 km and typical to 358 km.

You are under my non-USA 'typical' (USA 'rated') of 380 KM at 100% at 57,270 km.

Very interesting, you had only 224 miles typical range initially, when the average 90% range appears to be 230. You were 3% below average when I was 9%, roughly 3% below you.

Your own personal typical data after some 40000 km (26500 miles;)) are still 6% above mine for the same mileage.

Btw, over the 40000 km I averaged 251 Wh/km.


But why does Tesla not provide actual capacity data in mere kWh?


I met with SC a week ago, they discounted my references to the US data, and suggested that by limiting the recharging to 70% and using “confort” acceleration, Iwould regain some of the loss in range.
 
I have a X 90D that I picked up in April 2016. Have put in 56,000 miles on it. Supercharged about 20 times. Of which only to 100% about 4 times. When I bought the car, the 100% was 255 miles with 90% at 230. However, over time, this 90% charge has now dropped to 213, with a 100% at 236. I am concerned that this would continue to drop further. Live in Houston. So, it is hot 6 months of the year. But the other 6 months it is nice. Never too cold / snow / ice / below freezing. Park it in a garage where it never goes below freezing. Every day I just charge it to the recommended 90%. Average commute per day is 100 miles.
Has anybody else with this kind of mileage experienced this level of degradation for a 90D ?
 
I have an X90D built in April 2016 and delivered June 2016. I have 62,000 miles on mine. My 90% is 212 and seems to drop 1 mile whenever I go on a long trip involving superchargers. My wife drives it about 100 miles a day as well. I just switched to % instead of miles. I am in Durham, NC and keep mine in the garage. I charge to 90% daily.

Wow, our cars seem to have identical characteristics. So this is indicative of a greater problem.
I too noticed that I lose about 1 mile on the 90% charge each time I go on a long trip involving superchargers. I took it to the Tesla Service in Houston and they said perhaps I need to get it down to near zero and fully charge it to reset the system. I am not too excited to do this as I am afraid I might brick my battery. I have gone down to 2 miles and then did fully charge it once, but it had no effect on my 90% indicated range.
 
My car had been stable for about 20,000 miles at 217 at 90% charge. In April of this year, I drove from Durham, NC to Lexington, KY and back stopping at about 6 superchargers. When I returned. my car would not go above 215. It stayed there until my most recent trip in July to Jacksonville. When I returned it would not go above 213. It currently sits at 212 at 90% with 62,000 miles. I guess that is about an 8.5% drop. Not sure if it has to do with my daily driver getting confused by the long trips or if it is degradation. Maybe I should quit going on vacations.
