So apologies if this is a dumb question, I did a search and couldn't find the answer.
I have XM Radio in my 2016 Model S (AP2).

Under categories on Radio (XM) I only see 1 category, Entertainment, I don't see any of the other categories ????

Yep I have activated and yep I can scan all the channels by moving forward one at a time !

Also none of the channels have their channel art - not the album art, channel art - nothing ? Not as fussed about that but seemed weird.

Its the lack of categories that frustrates me.

I have tried resending the signal and of course SiriusXM support doesn't understand anything after I use the word Tesla.

Help !

So after 3days of sending the signal nothing changed. I then contact Tesla support who tell me they will have a specialist look into it and contacting Sirius XM again, it then miraculously fixes itself. Well the channel categories have appeared, still no channel art which is a bit disappointing - thats not exactly difficult.

Same exact thing happening to me. I "scrolled" through, one by one, and saved some as favorites. had to save some just to see the name of the channel. if it was a channel i didn't want, i "un-favorited" it. this is ridiculous, just a basic radio search function that was, inexplicably, removed??

Might returned to normal after 3 days of sending the SiriusXM activation code - approximately sending it 3-4times/day :)

Same issue here. Spent a half hour on the phone with Tesla technical support yesterday and they played dumb like they have never heard of this problem. Said they need to escalate it to an engineer to troubleshoot. Kind of pathetic. This is basic functionality.

I had this same thing happen on mine. Then it spontaneously fixed itself partially one day (I got a few categories) then a few weeks later it fixed fully and I had the whole list. No software updates or anything in between.

I had sent refresh signals, I had disconnected my bluetooth while XM was sending the refresh (a suggestion by the XM people), and nothing. Then I checked it later and it was good.

My theory: I listen to XM almost exclusively on my drive to/from work daily. XM only sends the channel list occasionally (maybe only when they add or change channel names) or Tesla only polls the channel list occasionally. I was listening to XM at the exact right moment to get the channel list pushed and receive it. I believe you have to be listening to XM for it to get any updates, etc - it won't update in the background.

Issues are all still there as of this week. Took delivery of my car Saturday. I thought maybe this was a bug due to transferring service from a previous vehicle, but clearly it's more systemic. I've tried a bunch of signal refreshes from XM, called them (they told me it was a car issue), tried rebooting the center screen a few times. Nada.

For people who have all the channels showing, do you also have channel art? Or that's just no longer supported, even when "working as expected"?

The S 100D we picked up in March has the XM radio problem - and still don't have the station list - after spending hours on the phone with XM and Tesla trying to get it to work.

I was able to get confirmation from Tesla that this is a known problem that affects all cars built after 8.0 was released, and they didn't have any workaround to get the station list.

What makes this even worse is that in 8.0 they also eliminated the station slider for XM radio (it's still there for AM & FM), so if you don't have the station list, you have to single step through the XM radio stations to a specific channel - which can take a long time to get to the higher stations (200+)...

8.1 was supposed to have more media player "improvements" and should have had the XM radio station list fix - but it doesn't appear Tesla is including any media player improvements in the 8.1 releases (yet).

8.0 also broke the USB player. The "random" song playback mode plays the same sequence of songs - every time, no matter which song you select as the first song. And when you switch back to USB after playing another media player source, the media player forgets what the previous USB song & position, so you have to manually select a song every time when switching back to USB.

And we still haven't seen these bug fixes yet...

At least we're getting AP2 improvements...

Tesla doesn't seem to care about those of us who spent a lot to specifically get XM
The pano roof and UHFS was 4K
I likely would have passed on those options except for the desire to have XM
And now we wait and wait with lousy workarounds our only option

100% agreed. I blame myself for not asking for a proper XM Demo at test drive. But never imagined that it'd be such an amateur implementation. The worst I've seen in 10+ years of Sirius/XM cars.

While I'm ranting, the XM should have a DVR mode. My 2014 BMW had that. It was great. When I took a phone call, the radio buffer would start to fill (up to 30 minutes), so I didn't miss any of the show I was listening to. And as a bonus, then I could fast-forward through commercial breaks!

I'm likely just going to cancel XM if this doesn't get resolved soon. The streaming Slacker has been so good in this car, XM is just costing me a monthly fee at this point.

I have had my MS 100D for nearly 2 months now and have never seen any channel art for the SiriusXM stations. All other cars I have ever had / been in with SiriusXM have always had channel art. So this was disappointing. But I love so much about the car, and the entertainment otherwise plays well for me, so I can overlook it. Of course, streaming Slacker provides album art which is nice.

BTW, the main problem noted in this thread about all but the Entertainment category disappearing from the browse screen happened to me about 3 - 4 weeks ago. I did nothing and just drove and within 5 - 10 minutes the categories just appeared with no further issue since then. I did not request a signal refresh. Given how long others above waited with this problem, perhaps I got lucky.

Does anyone know if its an XM or older Sirius based radio? I have 2 lifetime Sirius subscriptions from way back before the merger and would like to transfer one over to my car when it comes in shortly.
It's an XM radio. Be careful with those lifetime subscriptions. Once it's transferred to a car it stays with the car forever. You can't move it anywhere else. I learned that the hard way.

In the original lifetimes, I'm allowed 3 transfers, luckily mine was to a portable radio (Stilhetto) that kept having warranty issues and they would transfer to the next greatest POS. They finally gave me free app subscription and I stream to the car, which shows album art.. The other one was on the ex's car that I fought tooth and nail to have it moved over to my jeep that I don't plan on getting rid of for a long time. If you bitch enough and remind the new employees what the old contract was they'll honor it but it takes a lot of going up the supervisor ladder to get it done.. It gets creative adding odd album art listening to Howard Stern..
