XM Radio

Hi, new to the group. Getting ready to purchase my first Tesla. Does anyone know what model year of the Model S XM radio was available and when looking at used cars how to tell if a car has it? Thanks

AFAIK it only comes included with the ultra high fidelity stereo package and in earlier years requires the pano roof. I may be wrong for newer models. In order to tell if the car has the ultra high fidelity, there is a subwoofer enclosure in the passengerside of the rear trunk and if you open audio settings, there’s a selection for Dolby surround (at least in 2015 cars)

The UI of it is pretty lame, no radio station graphics and it shows up in the radio settings of the audio menus (AM/FM/XM)

I have a 2013 that has XM with ultra hifi and the panoramic roof.

Some cars have XM radio without the pano roof. My 2014 is one of them. I think the roof requirement started sometime in 2015. Someone who knows for sure please verify.

We had a 2012 S P85. The early production Model S vehicles required pano roof for XM.
