I am a huge fan of Xpel PPF and ceramic tint and highly recommend them. I have had Xpel PPF on my 2018 Tesla P3D as well as Xpel ceramic tint on all the windows. My car has been parked outside 24/7 for the past 3 1/2 years. Both the PPF and the tint look just as good today as the day they were installed.
Technically speaking a full sheet/full hood install is "pre cut" on the plotter machine. A great installer is able to fully stretch and wrap all the edges so you don't see any edges or notches.

Oh, gotcha. But....even then, the installer can lay a full sheet over the entire hood, wrap all the edges and trim the excess off on the underside of the hood. Whoever installed the OP's job and left the notches visible on the top side of the hood needs to go back to installer school.
