Does anyone have the Xpel stealth ppf on their Model 3? I’ve had it for about a year and it held up great up until now. I’m starting to notice some scratches on my car. Took it in to the shop that installed it and of course they are saying that it’s not covered under warranty because the scratches are too deep. Even insinuated that I drove my car through a bush or went off-roading. Lol. The scratches are very fine and are not deep at all. I use microfiber towels when washing my car. To my understanding, this is supposed to self heal. Has anyone had the same issue?

The heat gun should fix it, watch youtube videos first to see how it’s done. I’ve had Xpel PPF in the front end installed by Auto Armour in Mira Mar a year now, still looks brand new, no paint chips or scratches.. occasionally I see a scratch and then it’s gone. Pretty amazing healing on that film.

I was initially going to bring my car in to Auto Armour, but they charged a bit more than 5 Point Auto Spa. I was recommended to them by other Tesla owners and now I wish I went to Auto Armour. :(

How long have you had it on for? Did Auto Armour tell you if there were any issues like this, for you to bring it in? I feel if the scratches are not going away through heat, that the shop should be the one correcting it.

Does the matte self-heal as well as the regular?

No, It can not heal as well as the gloss. The Stealth has a thinner self-healing layer, but it does have one.

This was one of the many warnings my installer informed me off when I went with the Stealth over the Ultimate Plus. It doesn't scratch up as easy as vinyl does, but you should really take care when washing. Like most car washing, the dirtier it is, the more careful you need to be.

There's a lot more to it than just switching to a microfiber from whatever you had been using.

I had my first Tesla Model S done by 5 Point Auto Spa. They were just ok because work around the mirrors was very sloppy. I just did my Model X with Auto Armour. Really looks like a professional job. I paid less for the Matte XPEL with Ceramic coating than 5 Point was quoting me.

I wouldn't say you have to baby Stealth. But what constitutes babying is going to vary from person to person. Do you need to be as careful as you would with stock Tesla paint? No, I don't think so. Micro scratching like the OEM paint gets shouldn't be an issue. It would have to be very dirty, along with using poor wash techniques. I wash and dry mine about the same as I would have before. I think the ceramic helps the washing go a little faster. But if you never hand wash your cars, and only like automatic car washes it could seem like a lot of effort.

Any updates? I'm considering getting Stealth and this is giving me pause. I don't want to spend $6500 on something that I have to baby and worry about.
Sorry for the late reply. I've been very busy and haven't had time to look further into the issue with my wrap. Last I was told is to contact the shop again and see if they can help correct this. But again, I haven't had any time. I haven't heard anything from xpel. They had a rep refer to take my car in to a xpel certified installer which I did go to and that installer stated I should go back and ask them to correct it. I wish @XPEL Jeff Can help me look into this further. I still don't understand how xpel says the product self heals when clearly it does not. Atleast on mine it does not. So either xpel is misadvertising their product, or the installer is doing something shady advertising xpel products but really installing something else. I could be wrong on both thoughts, but something is definitely wrong here and looks bad on both installer and xpel.

BTW... I asked 5 point to fix my side mirrors as the edges were lifting off again for the 3rd time, I never got a call back from them. Totally never going back to them.
