Hi, I'm looking to convert my Yamaha Chappy to an electric motorcycle/moped and I was wondering if anyone could help. I went to the CoolFuel website (show from the science channel) and the host of the show drove an "electric bush motorcycle" with the following specs:

    1978 Yamaha XS

    Electric Motor
28 Peak HP Advanced DC Motor

    Motor Controller
    Curtis model 1209 400 Amp

    4 12V Odyssey PC 1200 40 Ah @ 48 Volts

    No transmission
    Single 5 to 1 gear quick acceleration-top speed 50mph

The site however does not mention the range that the bike gets or charge time or anything else for that matter. I'm going to contact the companies that supply the battery and motor but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone has any input that could help me in any way. Thanks.

That Cool Fuel guy went through/by San Francisco in his alt transpo travels. If he does it again he should stop by Martin's place.
