An acquaintance wanted to see if he and his wife could fit their recumbent bicycles into a Model S, so they asked me if they could do a test in my car. We did, and it worked. They carefully protected some exposed surfaces in my car (the carpeted backs of the rear seats, and the back of the front seats, plus the exposed top surface of the bumper), and slid the bikes in. they had two different styles of bikes, but both fit without removing anything (except the warning flag).
So, I think they might look for a used Model S...

I do not think this would work in a Model X, and certainly not in a Model 3.
