Yoke and lack of stalks demo

Starting at 6:30 this video goes through the new yoke and lack of stalks on the new S and X. I think I will be fine with these changes.

The issue is not about fine or not fine with the yoke.

It's the similar to radar-equipped and radarless Autopilot. They are both fine. Radarless Autopilot maximum speed is now temporarily limited to 75 MPH instead of 90 MPH. Yes, it's fine with lots of people but the capability is clearly less. Radar-equipped Autopilot can still use TACC in impaired vision when there's a lead car in front such as darkness, headlights off, smoke, wildfire evacuation, thick fog, heavy rain... but Radarless Autopilot cannot. That's fine with many people but Radarless Autopilot is clearly less comparing with radar version.

Now, back to the yoke. Race drivers use a yoke for their race track so other people can adapt that outside of the track too. Yes, they can. However, the steering capability is awkward and not enhanced.

When you turn such as the picture below: The arms still look very crooked, twisted, and uncomfortable at 11:30 mark for the right hand and 5:30 mark for the left hand. It's missing the upper half-circle and if that half-circle is there, the left hand has an option of resting and helping by touching or hovering the whole circle.


That's a video from race driver Randy Pobst who used Tesla yoke for 3 laps then ordered his people to replace it with a rounded wheel for the Tesla Model S Plaid.
