Thinking about dropping the width from 255 to 245 to gain more efficiency and have less weight. Those 255’s are massive. What’s your take on this. Fred
You try it out and report Original 9.5" rims should have no problem wearing 245 tires but there would be more gain with some new 9" rims. Tire Width for a Wheel/Rim Size Chart
That’s great thanks, my custom wheels are stock 9.5” so I thing 245 will be good to go. Will report back at 45,000 miles when it’s time to replace them. Fred
245/40R 20 will be 4mm shorter in diameter and cause 1% Speedo error. You may have to bump up to 245/45R20
Same results with 19s. You’d be -4.5mm difference in diameter and have 4.5mm more wheel gap. Plug the tires in this calculator https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=255&aspect=45&diameter=19&wheelwidth=9.5&offset=40&width2=245&aspect2=45&wheel_size=19&wheel_width=9-5&offset2=20
