EV efficiency can be measured in units of force, weirdly enough

I like your observation, but efficiency isn't consumption. My interpretation would be it's the average force the drive train exerted on the car to move it. A more efficient car would require less force.

    Starlink and Ukraine War discussion

Considering that Starlink wasn't intended as a military system operating in a contested environment it's pretty amazing it works as well as it does. Apparently some systems designed for military use like JDAM and the Small Diameter Bomb don't work very well at all.

Make your robotaxi predictions for the 8/8 reveal

Well not exactly. They're going to announce it in 3 months.

Make your robotaxi predictions for the 8/8 reveal

Good point. The obvious answer is Tesla will offer a subscription service, say $99/month for unlimited rides in every city where Tesla Robo Cabs operate.

Make your robotaxi predictions for the 8/8 reveal

Actually I've no doubt Elon will announce a completely autonomous robotaxi without a steering wheel or any other controls in August. Just like he announced the new Tesla Roadster in November 2017 and started taking deposits soon after.

Tesla Autopilot Full Self Driving Month Trial April 2024. Pretty Good!

We just got our update and free trial: v12.3.6 We made two trips with it and then shut if off. It was quite impressive what it could do, however it also: Misread a route sign for 110 that was partially obscured as a 10 mph speed limit. Hung in the left lane with cars behind us that wanted to go...

    J1772 adapter stuck

FWIW: Our CCS adapter is a very tight fit on some plugs but after spraying it with dry teflon lube that fixed it.

Sold 2015 Model S 85D with rebuilt battery.

IN ADDITION: It looks like if you are a resident of Massachusetts and meet the same qualifications as the Federal rebate, there is an additional $3500 rebate from the state that I believe can be applied for directly from MOR-EV within 90 days of purchase. This is in addition to the $3802 rebate...

Sold 2015 Model S 85D with rebuilt battery.

NOTE: The final price is $18,148 If you qualify for the Federal EV Tax credit based on AGI income (<$150K joint), we can do the transaction through Keysavvy which will save $3802 for the buyer. They are a dealer, essentially buying the car from me and reselling it to you, but that makes it...

Water damaged battery repair at EcoAuto in Tewksbury, MA

They did an explicit battery rebalancing operation that took about a day at the end of the repair. I believe the battery management system is constantly rebalancing the battery since, even without any replacements, the cells aren't all the same so they're going to age and behave differently.

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

I'm no fan of Musk's various decisions, but perhaps Tesla is looking ahead at lots of Federally funded fast charging stations using their NACS plugs and decided to go with that.
