Highland suspension on 2019 Model 3

Thanks everyone for the information in this thread, I've been following it closely. I, like M3 2018, have a LR RWD. So the larger, heavier battery, but only a rear motor. I wanted to double check that these would be the "recommended" highland parts for this setup. Thanks in advance!

This is the official retrofit of model 3 CCS been announced?

Well add me to the group that had the retrofit done. 2019 model 3. So far seems to work. Charged at a 50kw EVgo charger today. I did try to go into the service mode while charging so I could see things like battery temps. While CCS charging the service mode seems to crash - the service mode...

Basic question about charge curve when DC fast charging at non-tesla stations

I'm doing the CCS retrofit. When I normally charge at a supercharger, the power follows a curve depending on the battery state of charge. so the power tapers down as the battery state of charge increases. I'm guessing when I charge at a non-tesla DC fast charger, the car will communicate with...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Watching various youtube videos in this, it seems most commentators aren't happy with the supercharger team layoff (how I feel as well). But there is a subset who feel it could be a good thing for the EV landscape. All these commentators that I've seen so far essentially make the argument that...

Thanks gearchruncher for the information. Letting go of the supercharger team seems bananas to me personally.

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

As best as I can tell, we don't really have any idea. There's an Electrek article citing anonymous sources (I believe employees without firsthand knowledge) that Musk asked for a cut to the supercharger team that the head of that team, Rebecca Tinucci, felt was too large, and then to "make an...

    Luminar’s largest customer: Tesla

I will throw out a random uneducated guess, because I like to hear myself talk. Perhaps it's to train the vision system in depth perception - the lidar can be used to automatically label the distance away objects are, and then as they move, to calculate their velocities. Tesla can get a lot of...

    Inflation pressure for non-stock tires

Hi. First time with non-stock tires on my model 3 (I've always gone with stock but got a nail in the tire wall and only tire shop open did not have stock model 3 tires. Luckily I was due for new tires anyway). Wheel Works put these tires on (all 4 tires): Potenza Sport AS BL 235/45R18 XL98W...

    2019 awdLR

Yes, the switch to HW3 happened in 2019, and if I remember correctly, they made the switch to HW3, then ran out of HW3 components and switched back to HW2.5 for a while. So for a 2019 car I would check which version the car has. Edit: jjrandorin beat me to it. :)

All US Cars capable of FSD will be enabled for one month trial this week

Can I ask a naive question - what is is about the ultrasonic sensors that stops these cars from getting the vision based autopark or the free V12 trial? Maybe there's a different software branch, with the non-USS branch getting the development? Thanks.

Tesla collision center quoted $4400 for repairs

For what it's worth, I'm in California too and went through insurance when a tree branch fell on my car and it required over $5,000 to fix. My insurance company said it would not affect my rates (I think because it was a comprehensive claim). My rate did end up going up a small amount, which may...

    wipers stopped working on auto

Also as has already been mentioned here, you can adjust the wipers without the screen. If you push on the left stalk button, over the next couple of seconds the left scroll wheel can be used to move through the wiper speeds.

    wipers stopped working on auto

It's interesting how varied some of the experiences are here. The auto wipers for me were generally OKish, but not great. I always wished there was an "offset" that we could set - I generally wanted the wipers to go one level faster than what the auto wiper did. After this recent software...

Tesla battery longevity not affected by frequent Supercharging, study says

So if I'm going to do this lithium plating recovery thing, what state of charge do I want? And then let the car sit at that state of charge for 2 days? Thanks.

    Supercharger - Olema, CA (LIVE 16 Aug 2023, 6 V2 stalls)

Well, I think we may be almost there. The transformer seems to have been installed, and there's a new telephone pole that's tapping power from the distribution lines. The ADA space has some new portable toilets. They're perfectly positioned so that when a car pulls in to charge, it will block...

    Supercharger - Olema, CA (LIVE 16 Aug 2023, 6 V2 stalls)

I was by not too long ago and unfortunately there is still no evidence that PG&E has done anything. There is no transformer and I did not see a new telephone pole to facilitate connecting the overhead distribution lines to the transformer. Looking at Tesla's map it seems the closest...

Upcoming Tesla Update (2023.12) to include steering wheel customizations and more

My own request for scroll wheel customization would be to have the right scroll wheel adjust the windshield wiper speed, at least in context of pushing the left stalk button. Didn't see anything in what I read that this may be an option in this release. I hope that comes in a future release.

Neighbor's tree branch fell on trunk - how to proceed?

Thanks everybody. On the question of overhanging branches, in my particular case the branches were not overhanging the parking space. the tree was entirely on/over the neighbor's property. It appears however that when the branches (?or top portion of tree?) broke off it must have somehow tumbled...

Neighbor's tree branch fell on trunk - how to proceed?

Thanks everybody, really appreciate the input. The parking space is actually rented from a neighbor, will let them know. The tree is located on a rental property. I've reached out to the property management company, and they are contacting their insurance, but have given me no information so...

Neighbor's tree branch fell on trunk - how to proceed?

Hi. So overnight it seems a branch from my neighbor's tree broke off and hit my trunk. To me it looks like the trunk door needs to be replaced. Does anyone know the proper way forward with the insurance - should I contact the neighbor to see if their building insurance would cover this, or just...

Was just there. To me it seems that the parking lot modifications and Tesla side construction were completed a few months ago, and we're waiting for the transformer to be installed. Also not sure how the power will be supplied to the transformer. In post #34 in this thread, there are photos of...

    Rear defroster not working

Agree with above. My rear defroster stopped working, they quoted me some lot of money as an estimate and explained that they do that in case there had been some damage to the glass (and therefore the defroster not working was not Tesla's fault). When I brought in the car they saw that the glass...

Is 24.6 vision-only in US cars?

So I just tried to set the following distance to 1 and could not. 2 is the lowest it would go. So everything is consistent with radar being removed. XPsionic: so far it's too soon to tell if anything is different. I also don't use autopilot very often in general, so I'm not the best person to...

Is 24.6 vision-only in US cars?

On my release notes for 2022.24.6, there is no mention of Tesla vision. Tesla vision does now appear under the "2022.20" release notes farther down the screen. I never received the 2022.20.9 update, I was previously on 2022.20.8. I had thought the 2022.20.9 update brought Tesla vision to the...

Is 24.6 vision-only in US cars?

Thanks. Mine is a June 2019 build which had radar. I just tried it out, and it did limit the max speed to 85 mph so I think that means the radar is now turned off. I'll also see if the minimum distance went from 1 to 2 the next time I use it. Edit: It does show up under the 2022.20 release...

Is 24.6 vision-only in US cars?

Thanks! That's what confused me as the release notes in my car did not mention Tesla Vision. But I see in that link that the release notes in the car may actually not mention the transition to Tesla Vision. I guess the way I could fully confirm it is to try to set the autosteer top speed above...

Is 24.6 vision-only in US cars?

Hi. I just got 2022.24.6. I think I came from 2022.20.8. The release notes in my model 3 made no mention of Tesla vision, but I've seen other people reporting that this release transitions radar equipped cars to vision only. I'm in the USA. I didn't find anything clear when I poked around the...

Anyone notice their regen braking affected by 2022.20.6?

On my model 3 I've started noticing intermittently weak regen right after I back off the accelerator. But it doesn't happen every time. I'll let off the accelerator and then have a "yikes!" moment as the car doesn't slow down as expected and I reflexively apply the brake. but it doesn't seem to...

    Supercharger - Olema, CA (LIVE 16 Aug 2023, 6 V2 stalls)

I don't know much about supercharger construction, but I'm thinking this could possibly be construction of one? These are photos from the south and west sides of the parking lot. I think I'm seeing some pipes/conduit that could feed into the Tesla supercharger cabinets, as well as stands that...

    Supercharger - Olema, CA (LIVE 16 Aug 2023, 6 V2 stalls)

Perhaps some progress? This was at the west side of the parking lot (the side opposite the entrance from route 1). The south side was also fenced off at the edge of the parking lot, but no evidence of any construction there. The mechanized scoop had dug up some ground behind the fence.

Question about not-at-fault vandalism insurance claim (Geico) - will it affect rate?

It seems I'm too far along in the claim process to cancel it at this point. After speaking with several people/departments at Geico who could not give a clear answer, I spoke to someone in the "service" department who definitively told me that the claim will not increase my premium (and also...

Question about not-at-fault vandalism insurance claim (Geico) - will it affect rate?

Hi. I have Geico insurance and they initially estimated about $250 to repair, but indicated I could...

Tire alignment recommended with new tires?

Hi. My 2019 model 3 LR RWD has 30K miles, and the technician told me the treads are worn to 3/32 and I need new tires soon/now. I've had the tires rotated about every 12K miles and they seem to feel the tires have been wearing without any abnormal wear pattern. Regarding wheel alignment when...
