I had a problem with one of my uberturbine wheel covers seating properly and popping off on one side or the other. I found that making sure the center pops in first was the solution for me. Something to try.....
We need both preconditioning for public DCFC and the option to automatically include them in the route plan if desired. I should have been clearer in my post 😂
What you're describing is effective leadership, I'm not sure that's what is going on at Tesla any longer. The recent decisions and product evolutions don't seem to be aligned with broad customer wants. My thoughts are the recent drop in demand is a sign of this.
Haven't replaced a windshield yet in our 3 or Y, but I have had rock chips filled on each of them so far.🤞However I had a jeep wrangler I averaged at least two windshields a year in that vehicle (thanks to the windshield that was almost vertical).
I for one am glad the free trial is over, I tried it several times, never could complete a drive without causing issues with delays, eratic behavior, or situations which were unsafe. Glad to have my Autopilot back.
All season tires, absolutely have their "use case". They are NOT a performance compromise. Just in the same way that UHP summer tires have a "use case" and dedicated winter tires.
After trying FSB on city streets, and local highways, It really seems to me that FSD on city streets is more of a solution looking for a problem. It's amazing that a computer and cameras can pilot a car as well as it does. But, it's just not a buy based on it's abilities and cost/benefit analysis.
I would normally agree that a droning sound is almost always tire noise. The only thing that dissuades me from this is that you changed the tires, but the noise didn't change. Does the noise change when you are on different road surfaces (Smooth vs Rough)?
I can't really see the wheels making...
Some of the aftermarket caps, have a foam strip that goes around the inner ring of the cap, because they go all the way out over the lip of the rim. I have these on my Uberturbine style caps for my 18" winter set-up.
IMHO...The Model 3 is one of the most fun daily drivers you can have. Can you find other cars that can exceed the Model 3 in a particular category, of course, but as an all around fun daily driver. Pretty darn hard to beat. Puts a smile on my face every time I'm in the car.
Pretty sure it's just a typo and you meant 279.
The trend toward more accuracy I believe is really a good thing. The previous estimates were not at all representative of real life.
Don't worry too much about all of the BMS and projected range "hand wringing". I recently got a chance to drive our 2021 MYP from 100% to 10% in highway driving (most at 80 mph, a little stop and go traffic) and a couple hours of parking with Sentry mode on. I was surprised I went 275 miles...
On March 12th we drove our 2021 MYP (w/19" snow tires on) 275 miles leaving the house with 100% and arriving back home with 10% remaining charge. This was all highway miles in Colorado most of it at 80mph, so stop and go traffic through Denver, Co. and a couple hours stopped w/ sentry mode...
That nail is still within the tread blocks and therefore is repairable. Whether you chose to or not is a personal choice. Yes, the Tire shops will probably tell you to replace it, their business is selling tires.
Would you tell them you have purchased high performance sport tires that can corner faster than the All season tires that come stock on the vehicle? If not, then No it's just another addition on your vehicle. No different from any other.
Tesla's Autonomous driving is an absolute joke! Building a suitable BEV has nothing to do with it requiring autonomous driving. Tesla has already proven that.
We have both the MYP and the M3 LRAWD, which we love. Our son has an Ioniq 5 SEL AWD, that is also a very nice EV, good range, FAST charging, the route planning has even gotten much better over the past year with updates. I would gladly drive it.
The Battery Health Test isn't going to do you any good. Hertz and literally no one else is going to let you hook up the vehicle to a 240V charger, with less than 50% SOC, let the test drain it to 0%, and charge it back up to 100%. Which could take up to 24 hrs. All to get you some nebulous...
You can get a quick estimate of how much EPA range is left on the vehicle, by multiplying the Miles EPA range (main screen Miles number)\percentage (click on the Miles to get to percent). take the original EPA number, subtract your calculate EPA range, that's at least an estimate of the range...
Personally I like a "stealth mode" appearance. No stickers, and blacked out badging. But it would be boring if we all did the same thing, have fun with it.
That's what the FSD beta screens are for. The rendering is not needed otherwise. There is a large section of Tesla owners who do not find a value in purchasing FSD.
Honestly the whole animated rendering of the vehicle and other vehicles around it is a waste of screen space. There could be much more important uses for that area.
A regular 12V compressor from Amazon works just fine with the 16V LiOn battery, I've unfortunately had the opportunity to use one. Grab a compressor from Amazon or elsewhere and a tire plug kit and you are good to go.
I get a pop sound when pulling in or backing out of the driveway over the sloped sidewalk (only when it's cold). I've had Tesla Service look at it. It's the upper enclosure for the battery pack. Apparently it's a non issue, though slightly annoying. We always know when Fall is over and winter is...
I recently bought the Michelin Cross Climate 2 for a Winter set on my Model 3. I've had a chance to test them in two different snow events. They handled very well and predictably. in Colorado we get the occasional snow, but like the OP stated, I too work from home when the weather is really bad...
you could check www.abetterrouteplanner.com to check out the route you prefer and see if it's possible. You can also check www.plugshare.com to see what chargers are available via your preferred route. Wyoming is tough, because chargers are few and far between. No idea what the Tesla nav will do...
I have both the YP and 3LR+AB, in a straight line, they feel almost identical. The stated acceleration from 0-60 per tesla are almost identical as well. Once in the twisties, the 3 has all the advantage.
We have a 21 MYP and switch between the 19" Winter set-up and the 21" Uberturbines for the summer. It doesn't feel any faster with either set. Turn in feel is better with the 21's, but that's about it. The MYP is considerably faster 0-60 that the MYLR.
This is pretty much my point, the theoretical degradation value isn't as important as the rate of degradation after the vehicle is in service and affected by individual charging habits. I personally use the average of the nominal full pack on values that showed a full rated range. I set that...
The SMT capacity when new value is a hardcoded plug number. I also know in the case of my particular 2022 M3 LRAWD which I have data on from the beginning of the new vehicle ownership, that it never had a nominal full pack of 82.1 KwH. Therefore pick the number you want, but the SMT full pack...
The only time I remember this occurring is when I get too close to the center line or the side of the road. It has a complete fit sometimes, other times it doesn't.
I've had alot of issues with the car switching from Scheduled Departure to Scheduled charging. I have just kept trying to set it back to Scheduled Departure in the app. I can't say that it's been very effective at keeping the setting. This happens with both the Model 3 and the Model Y.
Your drop in estimated charge percentage, is most probably due to the battery cooling after charging. If you have the vehicle preconditioning you can see the charger on the wall providing power to the vehicle. A quick google search will also confirm where the vehicle is drawing power. Agreed...
