yes you need snow tires. But, importantly, the drift and drive of AWD Teslas is not like old school 4x4s nor suburus. To be clear, it is excellent... but there is a bit more nuance in the drift. Best advice is go to a parkinglot on a snowy day, and feel it.. try and make it slip... learn...

no no, the Y frunk is massively larger.. .and best part, is it makes a better bench than the 3. So, for example, when you are changing into your riding shoes, or cracking your post ride beer, the open frunk bench seems like it was specifically modified to serve that purpose.

just switched in US. Must say, I loved the drive of the 3.. .and well, the Y is near identical feel on the curves and swerves. The kids love the extra leg room.. and the middle seat fold down is genius, and the full hatch back access is a wonder... the bigger frunk, the heat pump winter range...

i have this issue too.. only used on model 3.. and still trying to figure out if I can use my Pewag RS77.. that fit the 19" Model 3 (235/40-19) . Looks "ok" but the PEWAG shows RS77 and includes 255/45-18... but there is no "recommendation" for R19. Comments?

I don't see it as a reward. It is a great car that we love. But we'd be screwed on the resale outside of tesla. The Y really solves a lot of the problems of the 3.. .e.g. plastified rocker panels. 2018 m3, 19" LR AWD, no AP, with +26k mi sold for $35k.

Our east coast Y delivery pushed from July 27 to Aug 7. Their trade in offer for '18 M3 was more than we owed on the M3 loan. So balance applied to Y. But, with this delay, Tesla "pay off team" has still not paid off the 3rd party loan. Meaning that we will incur an additional loan payment...

We reserved in May.. .and now have VIN for Y delivery end of July. Tesla just sent us an email confirming that they will indeed be applying the price reduction to the account before car delivery. That is pro level customer service.

Yes, VT here. Our 3 came with very little warning. We had to meet the delivery truck on a major street, near convenient interstate pull off. They back it off... drive in your trade in vehicle. A few signatures and that's it. they're just drivers. No capacity to give you a walk through...

This thread sounds suspicious. The trade offers are good for 30 days. And if you accept it, and put your reservation in, you are locked in at that trade in value even if the car takes longer than 30 days to deliver.

true story - In Vt, when our Model 3 rolled down off the truck in 2018, we asked the delivery driver the same question. He said, "watch this" and he took the plate off our trade in, and slapped it on the new model 3. problem solved....

This is great resource. Just to be clear - Tesla is saying that the rust warranty does not apply in northern climates that use salt on the road. This is why there are class action law suits starting for the 2018-2019 model 3s that are rusting. This is why the Model Y has plastic rocker panels.
