Was just playing around with the Model S ordering page. Interestingly enough, it's showing just "June" for any combination of configurations, with one exception. Choosing Plaid with cream seats moves the order out to July. Long range with cream still showing June.

That maybe the issue.

I have not seen a new VIN shared in a very long time, and the only ones I did see associated with the “no steam” notification were for the Model X. I grow more and more convinced a minor refresh is in process.

I’ve always gone with black interiors, in 30+ years of ownership. I wanted to break it up a bit this time, and thought the cream went with the Ultra Red and Walnut nicely. I would have otherwise gone black. Also went yoke, so two new things. I sure hope I like it!

Yes there were a number of Plaids that finally got produced there for a bit, a handful with new seats. Outside of that, I've not seen any LR deliveries posted on any of the other social media sites I frequent. Could just be a result of it being a fairly low volume car, and all the CT / M3P...

Funny I avoided Plaid partly because of the carbon fiber trim. I've had that on my M3P for several years now and want something different. The seats do look fantastic, and the Plaid is an awesome vehicle. Contracts man!

That would be my 1st choice with the silver as well, but if his heart is set on cream, it works.

I’m going Ultra Red and cream. Cream is neutral and goes with anything, IMHO Agree on the bumper cam, also consider they just released the 3 without one.

Honestly I never bothered with the "system" and all the steps. I just use it like a normal sealant with excellent results. I find it to be long lasting and adds a deep shine even with a single coat. I find my cars look better than 95% of the others out there after a few years, no one time...

Anyone received a Model S VIN or taken delivery recently? Things seem to be moving slowly. I wonder if there are other changes coming with the new Lunar Silver color option. When Ultra-Red was added, there were other updates introduced including revised roof glass, round wheel option, etc.

This is the route I went as well. I've had two of the 128GB Tesla drives fail in 3 years on my M3P, hoping to get more legs out of this upgraded version, especially with the added space eaten up my HW4 cameras.

I thought it was already available? It’s the trunk part that included in the Spring update.

All that being said, if I were the OP I would feel disgusted too. Hopefully some of the other tips shared, or perhaps a different SC or repair shop can make it right. It’s not all peaches and cream for everyone, but the pile on here is disproportionate.

Thank you for posting this. I find the traditional caps and covers to be drastically better looking than the bulbous caps that come with these wheels from the factory. This simple mod makes a good set of wheels look great IMHO.

Same level of quality and service. But unlike the OP, I’ve had excellent experiences over all. Maybe it’s the local service center he’s at? Here in the Dallas area it’s been great for myself, my Dad, and a good friend across three different locations for many years.

Your first order? This is my second. My current car (M3P) took about 2.5 months to arrive. There was a solid 2 month radio silence mid-order process. I darn near wore out my refresh button over those two months.

Some revisions in March ‘23 that included updates to the headlights, taillights, glass roof, ultra-red paint, HW4, and I think they *just* did a computer update, as new orders are being notified Steam gaming is no longer available. I’m with you and think a major refresh won’t be seen until ‘26...

I’m sitting here really thinking about timing of ordering an S. 48V, PowerShare, steer by wire, front bumper camera, interior lighting, exterior refresh. No serious rumors of a refresh, but surely these features will make it to the S/X soon enough. Of course that may crank the price back up...

No VIN yet, but finally got dates on the delivery window. Updated from May-June to May 28 - June 18.

I fully realize some folks let emotion drive them, and that’s OK. I just prefer a more rational approach.

When I buy a car, I usually make a list of vehicles that fit my criteria. I then test drive them. Based on the test drives, cost, and other factors I'll choose one and move forward. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is the way. Could you imagine making automotive buying decisions based on political opinions? Tesla has what, 100K+ employees. They can't all agree with each other. Like the car, or don't like the car. The rest is just not relevant.
