Whatever makes sense for you mate. Being single, I'd rather have FSD capability on any Tesla I drive, be it a 3, CT, or a rental... or the next one I buy.
If you have 4 drivers I would hope you have more than 1 Tesla. And who says you can't will it to someone? Would you rather buy FSD for each vehicle? And all new ones?
I think that the FSD license should reside with the individual, not the car. So that if you have a license, any Tesla so equipped would allow you to use it. But then again, I don't as yet own a Tesla, only a fair amount of TSLA.
And still no questions about lower priced car availability using existing production lines... guess we'll have to wait until 8/8.
Overall glad Elon seems happy, but didn't really learn anything new. But then again I didn't have anything else to do, guess I'll go shoot up now.
If I would have sold all of my Tesla stock (most of which still has a basis of $3.32/share), I would definitely have 100% less TSLA and would have to have been stupid or desperate... and owe a lot of long term capital gains tax!
Another example of how headlines (including ads and commercials) can deceive using percentages and statistics...
I always used to enjoy the various graphs and charts in Playboy... even got a A for using them in my undergrad Statistics course!
I still prefer:
Funked
Up
Data
which then creates Fear, Uncertainty, and, Doubt. The above graphs are a perfect example. People will look at that and be drawn to 64% after THAT short period in time, without taking the starting percentage into consideration.... when you do that, it's actually...
I actually did (for a portion at least) but was forced to sell due to leverage issues. Bear in mind, while the rise of the per share amount is pretty high, on a percentage basis it's not quite as impressive.
Hope that helps you sleep better tonight...
And always always assume you're invisible. Saved my butt numerous times.
But the worst almost wreck I ever had was going road race style to Ice Harbor Dam into a 90° left hander on my Honda 550 when the beige jacket I had strapped on the seat slipped off and became entangled with the chain...
Yes. Mods get busy, or are overseas, or are living their lives with all the money they make by being Mods (like none). But this is just one thread of many, and yes it gets carried away sometimes, and yes I (and others) would like to see it restructured in order to reply to posts several pages...
I'm certainly not going to say I agree with a lot of what Elon has said on X since he took it over, but I certainly don't know the method to his perceived "madness." I mean how would you feel if you created the first new automobile manufacturer in the US since Tucker, basically reinvented EV's...
Just putting it out there my friend. And with Elon's post today about Tesla's upcoming investment in the SC network, who the hell knows what's going on. Maybe some light will be shed during the shareholder meeting next month.
Boy, sure glad I made this call last week after the SC team announcement! As SC availability increased, so does the convenience that must eventually accompany 1/2 hour minimum charging stops, i.e. restrooms, convenience stores, restaurants, etc. And while Tesla is starting buildout on several...
A few of you know that I've been away from home in hospital and other medical facilities due to issues having to do with sitting too much (!) for about the past 3 years. I recently returned home and finally had the opportunity to update my AV equipment and computers, as well as starting to...
Apologies if this has already been posted. From SE Robinson's Tesla recap on X:
ELON NEWS:
- Just to follow up on why Elon unfollowed Sawyer and Omar, it was 100% for posting about the article that 'the information' news outlet leaked on the firing of the Supercharger Team. Per Elon directly...
Yep, just sell the SC's themselves (with caveats), let them worry about the locations. Like I posed yesterday, get them hooked on heroin when you're the only dealer in town, then back away from the distribution itself. At least some people get it!
They are now, yes. But one of, if the biggest reason people are hesitant in buying BEV's from other manufacturers is charging. A lot of that reticence will disappear when they know they can refuel easily and reliably. Heck that's now one of Ford's big selling points in their current...
And just like that, we were green again.
You know, the more I think about the ROF of the SC staff, although I question how it was done (at least as far as I know), may be part of a planned strategic move by Elon and Tesla. Think about it, they spent the last year convincing all the EV...
Tesla's mission statement is "accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy". The company's vision statement is "to create the most compelling car company of the 21st century by driving the world's transition to electric vehicles".
It's right there, in the middle of sust 'AI' nable...
All auto stocks are down except for Lucid(?) and Hyundai/Nio, with Stellantis down twice as much as Tesla. While it seems obvious that the SC layoff is behind Tesla's drop today and I must say I don't understand Elon's reasoning, I have to believe there is one. I expect we'll know more about...
As demonstrated by GigaBerlin's new RWD LR Y which now reaches 600 km (373 miles) of range and sells at 3(ish) pricing, if Tesla sees the opportunity and it's relatively easy to accomplish, they will make it so. Would love to see this rig come to North America especially Washington state! With...
While I have a bit of money left, this conference call may have just saved me from getting a call...
hope the SP stays up! I hope to sleep a bit better tonight.
And has anyone heard anything from our Giga Shanghai transplant recently? Gotta be something going on with him I would think.
A friend has some relatives visiting after they and their friends just got laid off from Fremont. According to them, all of their jobs involved moving things around either by hand or by forklift. With Elon's statement that Optomis will potentially actually working in the factory instead of the...
First (and I know I'm a few days late), welcome back Lodger! You have been missed my friend!
b. And by announcing just RT (which will be built simultaneously as $25K car), Tesla drastically reduces any Osborne effect. Can you imagine what would have happened to sales had Elon said they were...
Are you sure about that? Frankly I'm more excited about FSD and RT being able to perform tasks that humans cannot, like a 25 car "train" traveling 100 mph down freeways like I90 in Eastern WA, from which vehicles in specific locations can either join or disembark with no human intervention, or...
Agreed, but it seems more than just circumstantial in the current time frame, especially for manufacturing and the design of the Gen3/RT which is being designed to easier and less expensive to build.
Perhaps we'll here from Optimus next week!
However (and I'm replying to your post Krug as it made the most sense) has anyone considered that this 10% ROF is actually opening the doors for the Optimus'? Perhaps these are tasks that can soon be done by the humanoid robots. Would be interesting to see just what positions are leaving and...
A bit of your topic here, but is it possible, conceivable, desirable (?) to use 2 different types of batteries in a vehicle, say 4680's and 2170's? One type that charges quicker but perhaps with less range and the other that charges slower but with longer range? And with the battery extender...
