    TPMS Lifespan MIC M3 SR+ Nov 2021

That's true. My concern is that the car's Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty expired on the 2nd of December, 2023. The Drive Unit and Battery Limited Warranties are still valid, but I would expect the TPMS's wouldn't be covered under the current Warranty. Unless anyone else has had a similar...

    TPMS Lifespan MIC M3 SR+ Nov 2021

In early April this year, about a week after my tyres were replaced, the front-right TMPS sensor went on the blink. Then a few weeks later the rear-right TMPS also went dark, followed by the rear-left last week. I now have 1 TPMS left that works. My car is 2 years and 7 months old and based on...

Tesla still doesn't know about the Rozelle Interchange

Yup. Had EXACTLY this happen to me. My wife is like: "That's a one-way street!" and I'm like, okay...thanks for nothing Tesla navigator. Sometimes you have to go with your own memory and remember that the street signs are what the police will fine you for not following, not the navigator. And...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Couldn't agree more. I've sometimes wondered when I was working on a machine safety system, if I said "yeah it's fine mate it's in Beta but you can still use it..." when someone is crushed because of a bug in the system, how would I feel about that? Pretty sure I'd go to jail, lose my...

    Superchargers in Australia

I also charged there on Sunday last week and there was another M3 there sitting idle. It was there when I showed up and there when I left. It's a weird spot though. Great view, but it's a long walk down/up a very steep hill to get a drink or use the bathroom!

Speak for yourself mate. As for writing standards well, it's a mindset. "What behaviour am I encouraging and how can it be circumvented?" It's a way of thinking that many people struggle with, irrespective of whether they're engineers or not IMHO.

    Toyota Bz4X

Well I'll admit that 10 years ago that was me. I grew up watching Fords, Holdens and the cheap Hyundai and Kia's have countless mechanical issues, electrical problems, and were just unreliable vehicles. Looking back I was being a bit harsh, but similar to Max Spaghetti above, the pitch from...

Finally got to a desktop to respond. Yes. I was agreeing with you. (Contextually confusing perhaps but quoting these posts I find hit and miss). My final electrical engineering joke for the thread though, Corona Discharge is the most fun kind of discharge ❤️ #NotThatFunny

    Supercharger - Raymond Terrace, NSW

If you've never designed or quoted an 11kV feeder run, above or underground then how would you know just how expensive that is? Every job is unique, certainly, but I've done jobs where we moved the planned locations of buildings to save millions from shorter power feeds. ACSR and Copper aren't...

    Supercharger - Raymond Terrace, NSW

Just because you’ve got 275kV interconnectors beside arterial roads doesn’t mean it’s easy or cheap to jack into them unfortunately. Stepping it down via sub-stations to usable voltages is more common in commercial and industrial estates. So where those two overlap with major roads you’ve got a...

The houses that have done this successfully (think eco-houses in the early 00s) are designed specifically to be facing the optimal direction relative to the sun for their latitude, as much natural ventilation as possible (no Air-conditioning) and minimal electrical appliances. I think if you...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

That's a really good point. My concern in future is that unless these different transit systems can have a logically aligned user-pays funding structure then there will be no system that is truly balanced and fair. Each of these areas are also managed by different government departments and some...

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

I drove a Leaf once via the company I worked for at the time and it was a lovely car. I enjoyed how quiet it was (with the PWS turned off), how it handled and the fun musical score it plays when you turn it on. My only issue was its range so once the Model 3 was released here in Australia, I got...

Australian standards for home charging an Electric Vehicle.

I realise most people on the forum aren't Electricians or Electrical Engineers. In future I probably shouldn't weigh in on this stuff like this if I'm going to get responses like the ones above. Appreciate your response that's based on fact.

Australian standards for home charging an Electric Vehicle.

I think stipulating 15A mandatory outlets in a garage or even Type 2 connectors is an obvious next step, for NEW BUILDS. The way in which legislation like this is usually handled is it only applies to new builds, not enforcing retrofits. As time passes eventually people will retrofit them...

FSD v9.0 in Australia is just a con isn't it?

Fair comment. I did watch it a little while ago and I was focussed on the Advertisement, which I don't think qualified as a lie. Misleading? Maybe. That's marketing though. To your point (and StopCrazyPPs) the fact that Elon mis-spoke / spoke-sh!t during the event is undeniable, that's true...

FSD v9.0 in Australia is just a con isn't it?

Yes I watched that video before you posted it. Yes Tesla took the finish line snapshot when the CyberTruck was ahead of the Porsche at the 1/8th mile marker, since EVs will out-accelerate practically anything gas-powered. If you let the race continue the Porsche will eventually win as it has a...

2022 Model 3 Insurance upped from $100 to $187 per month - Allianze

I'm not disputing the infrastructure can be considered to be archaic, however in fairness it was fit for purpose when it was designed, from baseload to end user points of supply. With the tables turned and not enough controls to disconnect or store the power pushed back into the grid from all...

Model Y / 3 comparison - same same but different?

Have to agree with the Model 3 being low. It's hard for my mother (77 years old) and my wife also complains. That said it's the exception rather than the rule and more the majority of my personal use case, the 3 is fine but a more comfortable height the Y is the better choice for most I think...

What am I missing - EV pushback in Australia

There are a myriad of reasons why people don't buy an Electric Vehicle. The more people (even in this thread) try to categorise "those people" the more like them we are in our offensive defence. The truth is there is a car out there for everybody's needs more or less. With time, more EVs will...

The doubters in the world will always say it's not possible to install charging infrastructure, when in fact it's not technically difficult and quite feasible. Can I pair a spare Model S keyfob to a Model 3? Or are they different?

I keep wanting to buy the KeyFob to see if it’s better than the damn phone. My iPhone 12 won’t unlock the MIC M3SR+ Unless the screen is awake. I honestly find my old KeyFob from my Honda was simpler and more reliable. One day when I’ve got $235 to spare…we’ll see.
