Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

I checked mine while in our garage which seems very flat. While in low height: Front left: -0.79 Front right: -0.63 Rear left: -0.63 Rear right: -0.79 Really doubt this means much.

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

The range is debatable. We have an EQS too and even though it is rated for less, it consistently gets more than what it is rated for and definitely more than the MXP. Plus the range estimate is very accurate in comparison to the inflated one my MXP has.

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Not sure if I would take Discount Tire's word on the 8k miles max. I have a bit over 8k miles on my MXP, close to 7k of the miles with the Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 and they still look pretty good.

    Seat Vibration/Tremor

I hope you have better luck. I have tried 2 different brands of tires from the originals, as soon as I bought the 2023 MXP, and even though the current ones have made some difference (Michelin Pilot Sport AS4) the vibrations certainly have not been eliminated. And I have had several balancing...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

OP here - Yes, the X ride is not that great especially if you compare it with vehicles in its class. It has always been puzzling seeing comments about how smooth it is. Personally I haven't been able to find a solution and will just get rid of it when the right time comes - all the price...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

I understand. I went through a buy back last year with my previous 2023 MX. I had totally thought the lack of smoothness was because of the 22's then so I got an MXP with 20s wheel wise. Otherwise I like the car and there is just really nothing else out there similar to it talking about...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

I can totally understand the sickness part, have had it too. The ride with the Michelin PS AS4 is definitely smoother. The 2023.44+ update also helped somewhat - note I have a 2023 MXP but my previous 2023 MX also had the same vibrations. Having said this, I am trying really hard to live with...

Long delay opening new model X with phone key

Well I have a 2023 MXP and it is available to me. I had the same issue that I never had the "Upgrade" button in app, but the steps I posted worked after trial and error. Make sure you delete ALL phone keys from the car before following them, and when pairing the phone key to the car you allow...

According to the release notes UWB is available worldwide.

It is for me (but wasn't before) after I went through the steps I posted:

Long delay opening new model X with phone key

Wonder if it is regional. I am in the US and the steps I posted work for me - I tried them again to be sure. I am on 2024.2.3 with a 2023 HW4 MXP, iPhone 14 Pro with 17.3.1 iOS and 4.30 Tesla app version. Be sure to allow the app to always know your location, without allowing it when it asks...
  13. L

Long delay opening new model X with phone key

Yes there is no upgrade on the screen since there is no key yet to upgrade - it configures it as a UWB key from the beginning.
  14. L

Long delay opening new model X with phone key

So I was able to make it work. While in the car: Deleted phone key from car Deleted app from iPhone Installed app on phone again and opened it - logged in. App will then ask to pair it as a key. I allowed it to always know my location when it asked and then it asked permission for nearby...

Long delay opening new model X with phone key

Somehow I never get a prompt to enable/upgrade phone key inside or outside the car. This is with a 2023 MXP with HW4 running 2024.2.3 and the 4.30 version of the app on an iPhone 14 pro with latest iOS. From screenshots I have seen there should be an upgrade button in the home screen of app but...

The 2 Best Days In a Plaid Owner’s Life

Not sure where to begin on this one but will take a stab at it. First of all a lot of people lease for tax reasons, possibly a business, where leasing is much easier accounting wise VS a purchase. So certainly leases have benefits for some to consider. Additionally, if you want to drive a new...

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Were you riding with me? lol You are spot on. I only drove it for 15-20 minutes though and need to test the startup more. 30-50, greatly reduced to the point that it is really hard to tell. This has been my major issue since I usually drive in the city at these speeds - pretty happy about it...

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

And my 2023.44.1 is finally downloading now! Won't be able to test until later today but looking forward to it. I have all vibrations possible from every thread ever included on this site including startup that goes away, 30-50mph always, 70+ mph steering wheel and I am sure there are more - lol.
  19. L

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Yes, because I got 2023.38.9 just a week ago. Before I was on 2023.32.9 since mid October. I seem to be getting the versions when they have completely matured.

    Did not know - thanks!

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Have never tried FSD and have no desire to do so. Nevertheless when I got the MXP end of June, the car came with a 3 month free trial that was extended for an extra 3 months. So, even though I have not activated FSD I have the subscription until end of December. This is the only reason I can...

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

How is that considering I still get no update? lol
  23. L

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Many of us have received no update, thus no joy to share. I am stuck on 2023.38.9. Makes zero sense why it would not be pushed to all plaids when there is a TSB out for a while. And I am not on the "special" FSBb branch.
  24. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Have you received the 2023.44 update? Wonder if it made any difference for others as I have not received it yet.
  25. L

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Thank you. I guess that is good - really wonder how they pick who gets new updates, especially when it is supposed to contain a fix described in a TSB specifically for plaids and have been waiting forever to get. Are there any others are still on 2023.38.9 or older?
  26. L

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

I don't know if 2023.44.1 has FSD. I am on a 3 month trial for FSD that came with the car and then was expanded for another 3 months. So my trial ends end of December. I have never used it nor enabled it but I am still stuck on 2023.38.9 which stinks since I cannot test if 2023.44.1 fixes any...
  27. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Are you normal seat vibrations between 30-50 gone? Happy with it now? Update still not available for me so no first hand experience yet - I just got 2023.38.9 a couple of days ago.
  28. L

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Should we start tearing up? This is my thread from the MX side - have been battling these vibrations with my MXP for months now and have been through alignments, multiple road force balancing sessions, and sets of tires from different brands until was told a software update is coming up to...

Yes it is on thousands of cars already.

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

So with 2023.44.1 out, has anyone received it? If so, have you noticed any difference? I am stuck on 2023.32.9 since mid-October and not sure why :(
  31. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Yay! I hope it makes a meaningful difference when we get it.
  32. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Just to provide an update... 2023.44 is definitely an OTA update and service centers cannot do anything about it. I had a service appointment that included the TSB and we just have to wait for whenever it is available. Per service center, guesstimate is that it will be available in the next...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

I appreciate the post but curious how noise is related to the vibration issues discussed in this thread?
  34. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Yes, but it may take another month or so. 2023.32 was first seen in public on Aug 27th, but week 32 was Aug 7-13. I didn't get it until mid-September. Same with 2023.38, was first seen in public Oct 3rd, but week 38 was Sep 18-24. I bet most didn't get it until mid Oct, and personally I still...

Model X shudder--blown off by Tesla service. Advice?

I seriously doubt it has to do anything with the tire pressure. For me reducing tire pressure actually reduces vibrations and roughness and have played with the range of 40-45 cold. 42 is the sweet spot for me and they get up to 45 warm. Note this is not with the garbage Continental tires that...
  36. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Yes, it seems that if you look at the TSB, the instructions for the service department to update software say "refer to Service Manual procedure 00020003; Model S, Model X". So procedure 00020003 is to go to software and see if there is an update available for the car - LOL! It doesn't seem...
  37. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Well, I guess there is a service bulletin about this software update now, it is Plaid specific. I am assuming this is what the service centers are referring to. Only thing is that 2023.44+ doesn't seem to exist yet and seems to be only during acceleration. The yoke vibration I get is at constant...
  38. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Does this mean that a software update exists but it is not an OTA one and has to be applied manually? I was told the same, that a future software update will fix the vibration issue and it is caused by uneven torque distribution. They did not know when it will be available though. Let us...

21+ Refresh Radar Detector Hardwired installation

I have tried that but it did not work for my HW4 MXP. I believe the video is for an HW3 MX but have not been able to find the correct cables to tap into in the HW4. On the other hand I only spent 10-20 minutes trying. If you are successful let us all know!

Vibration in Yolk at 70+ mph

I feel the same feedback too, as if all road noise is passed to the yoke. Turning at lower speeds sometimes feels like the yoke is bouncing way more than it was with the 22" wheels my previous MX had - this has 20"s. Accelerating hard it feels that the yoke is also bouncing somewhat. I wonder if...

Vibration in Yolk at 70+ mph

Totally agree, and a $110k+ car for many of us.
  42. L

Vibration in Yolk at 70+ mph

I have the same issue at higher speeds - 65+ - since I got my 2023 MXP with 20"s about 3 months ago. I have changed tires twice, road force balanced multiple times and did alignment. The issue persists and I was told the same, that a future firmware will fix it and that all MXs have it more or...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Just open the falcon doors and apply a generous amount of leather conditioner at the pleather that is at the bottom of the doors all the way around, where if they were closed, you wouldn't see that part from inside. BTW, it seems to be getting better and now I don't have to apply conditioner...
  44. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

That is awesome, but unfortunately I do need all season tires. Beyond the occasional snow, we have many days of under 40 degrees weather. So the service center says that the steering wheel vibration at 65+ is a known issue that will be corrected with a future software update and all have it...
  45. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Love them! They made the car MUCH more planted, much less road vibrations (running them at 42 PSI cold - under the recommended 45), and it is just a completely different drive. Still doesn't match the smoothness of something like the EQS but I was surprised how much better it is performance and...
  46. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Yes, I think a 108+ load index would be more appropriate, plus I think it may not be the best idea to mismatch speed ratings (Y vs W). The 265 is not XL load range.
  47. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

    Yeah, unfortunately not available.
  48. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Unfortunately the Michelin's are delayed to next week so installation has been rescheduled to next Wed. Diameter of all the tires is the same though, which would make the sidewall exactly the same, possibly more or less curved. You can add them to the compare feature Tire Rack has and see. Am I...
  49. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Yes, I have already ordered the Michelin Pilot Sport AS4, and they will swap them out. Falken has a 30 day trial run. Still have to pay labor/installation costs but at least I am getting the full price of the Falkens back.
  50. L

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Well just found out that Falken offers a 30 day trial run so I will be reimbersed for their cost minus installation. Not bad if anybody else wants to try them!
