Dang it just updated my post. It's HW4. I saw that @sleepydoc posted a HW3 Model Y I'm also a white interior convert

Two part post. First internet connection was a Hayes 1200/75 which felt lightning fast compared to a borrowed 300baud modem. Other part is, here is my HW4 Model Y, steering wheel and crotch in full view.

My guess is that 12.4 has been a 10.3 level experience for employees which is why it's so delayed. So instead of rapid improvements, they are having a "how did it break so badly" moment. Even the pigeon CEO seems to have slowed down his constant 12.4 is world changing hype.

Exactly this. When an FSD release is being working on it tends to stick to the major software release and only once it has stabilized will it start getting wide distribution to the most up to date release. This is the biggest reason for it always being on an older build.

Has anyone had to repair the dash ac vent adjusters. My six year old Model 3 drivers AC vent will adjust up and down, but is stuck on the split (divided) vent position. Has anyone tried working on the dash ac vents before. This is long out of warranty and likely to be a costly repair from Tesla

Nope, that just makes the steering wheel too low. Turns out the dash trim wasn't fitted correctly. Mobile service came and refitted it, it now functions correctly

Yep, same here. One has been on the latest firmware for a while, it's not very common for the lastest to also get the most up to date FSD The other is on the older firmware but has had FSD 12 for longer

I have that now. I transferred FSD from my 3 to my Y, so now the 3 has the most up to date. In an unexpected twist the 3 got the free trial so they’re both on the same FSD release but far apart in base version :confused:

It does seem an odd thing to claim though. I’ve just canned everyone who does this work, but we are still expanding, honest. Pretty difficult to argue investment while at the same time removing those who are needed to actually do the work.

Fully agree with this. The big problem I have with it is that the very first thing you have to do is be looking out to see what is about to come and hit us - then once you have decided everything is safe you can check the screen just in time to see the FSD message disappearing off the screen...
