    Supercharger - Keith SA

Yeah, same here, used them fine in April and also agree that bakery was pretty ordinary, had the sausage roll as well, it looked and tasted like it'd been there for a week!

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Actually just checked and they are there on 14.8, downloading 14.9 now also. No idea if there were there prior to 14.8

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

No, I don't remember seeing them before.

I've enagaged lawyers in an attempt to recover FSD cost (Australian owner)

If they refuse to pay, you take them to court, but that process is pretty easy (albeit more costly) given you have a Tribunal ruling. I would expect that even the dodgiest builder who might be calling your bluff would pay up before it got to court if they were convinced you were sticking to your...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

14.11 starting to go out at the same time, seems like some A/B testing or the .11 may be CT specific.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Looks like a 14.9 version has started rolling out. Not expecting any new features yet though.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yeah, did a video on 14.8 and the upcomming changes earlier today -

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

You are never going to get a great trade-in price at Tesla. They don't sell used cars so they have to on-sell it to another dealer for a start. They also have a set sales price for their vehicles so they can't play games with an inflated price on the vehicle and offer you more on your trade-in...

I'd definitely report that to Tesla

Nor your head into the tail gate. Learned that one the hard way

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Actually had a really good message today. Some guy who got turned off looking at an EV thanks to that 'Auto eggspurt' article where they drove the two BMW's from SYD to MEL and somehow managed to manufacture it to make the EV version take hours longer and cost more.... Anyhow after seeing my...

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Yeah I find that the interventions help to let it learn your individual situation. I was doing them heavily in the early days but rarely need to now. I also agree I'd love to see the ability to set a never charge below price and only discharge above price. As part of the EV alpha program I...

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Sounds like it's still adapting to your usage patterns etc. I'd definitely be overriding it in these situations if you can.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Might do that as part of a 6 month review or something. The Myth Busting video seemed to cause a big drop off in subscribers, guessing most of my viewers are well aware of the facts already so not really a good target market for this sort of video.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Yeah, definitely had nothing coming out of the rear vents with nobody sitting there. Are the belts buckled when you have the dog cover on?

    Yeah will do

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

I'm pretty sure mine doesn't turn on if nobody is sitting there.

    Superchargers in Australia

Yeah I think they were implementing something that if all stalls are full and you force it to 100% then you pay a premium. Not sure if that's active in Australia though.
  23. Jules22

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I paid about the same from tint a car.

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Just got to take it in for a day. Hopefully won't take too long, just a bit of a pain.
  25. Jules22

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I have to take mine back to get the tint re-done. Has bubbles all through it.
  26. Jules22

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Just be aware some will flash you just because they see the bright lights heading out to the left (which aren't blinding them) and there's a very obvious blackout all around their car. You'll always get the odd moron who doesn't understand adaptive lights and will flash you just because they...

    Superchargers in Australia

Interesting I've seen that happen in a really busy site, but I wonder if the new "vehicles on route" thing played a part here and it realised that it was going to be full very soon. That's pretty cool if that's what it was! It will warn you again before it gets to charging idle fees.
  28. Jules22

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

No need at all to tint the roof. I did do the side windows to darkest legal tint.
  29. Jules22

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Have to agree with you, it's more accurate than BMW's I've driven and quicker to respond. I've used it fairly extensively through CBR, MEL and ADL as well as on the trip from MEL to ADL through the night on highways and remote roads. Also agree it's a godsend around here with all the roo's...

Tesla still doesn't know about the Rozelle Interchange

The video is a perfect analogy. I don't think he's saying you shouldn't report it to Tesla, of course you should, the more of us who do so, the higher the priority it will get. All of the hyperbole about 'lethal consequences' etc is fairly stupid though, as in the video, you are responsible...
  31. Jules22

Tesla still doesn't know about the Rozelle Interchange

That's because most other tunnels have GPS repeaters, Rozelle doesn't (along with dozens of other issues), which causes problems with many navigation systems.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Haha, so many Tesla's around Canberra I'd be waving all the time, I certainly wave back if they wave though.

Jesus he gets around, I saw him here in Canberra this morning. Always give a thumbs up when I see a M3H, lol.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I honestly don't get the perceived need for a front camera? The Model 3 at least has fantastic front visibility, haven't driven a Y, but I assume it's the same or better. There's just no world where I see a front facing camera would add any value at all for me.
  36. Jules22

Model 3 Highland LR Range after charging

I only ever look at the % myself (except when I'm doing video's of road trips as everyone seems to want to see the efficiency stats)
  37. Jules22

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Yeah, definitely, I was pretty much over-riding it the whole first month. I've noticed with the new prediction ranges it's been much better as well, did your app update to show those yet?
  38. Jules22

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Yeah, the solar here isn't that big either, about 8KW all up, the main difference is I'm running 2x PW2's which are both still about 12KW capacity. In summer I rarely draw any power in, the solar is enough to charge me back up, but in winter time it's all pure arbitrage. I'm looking to charge...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Biggest limitations that USS have and Tesla Vision overcomes, kerbs as we already discussed, painted lines in a car park, situations where you have prtotrusions in walls in parking areas that your car can hit but are above waist hight, small poles (unless they are directly lined up with a USS...

It is the camera. As @dronus pointed out, it will do it for things that USS can't pick up too.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Very OT, but like any high risk investment it can be fantastic if you do your homework and treat it accordingly and it can be horrible if you FOMO in and think you are going to make a million overnight. It's always very easy to label something a scam just because you don't understand it. To...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yeah, I know, won't be much different.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yeah, I've used it from CBR to BNE and back, was an older version and a 2019 vehicle, but had similar results, it was really good for that trip. I'll be doing it again in July in the new vehicle so we'll see how that goes. Haven't tried it north of Brisbane, we may be heading up to Buderim if...
  44. Jules22

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Is possible, but would be a pain in the ass, there's no contracts or joining fees, so nothing stopping you. That said this winter being my first with Amber, I'm doing VERY well. Got a couple of days where I earned over $600 profit, couple of 10-25 profit days and the last few days have been...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I've said it before, but I personally recommend anyone considering EAP/FSD to consider it very carefully. I did purchase FSD but I went in knowing exactly what I'm getting, for me there was no point going half way it was either go FSD or just stick with AP. Now the important point is that for...
  46. Jules22

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Correct. They are supposed to be coming soon here as part of these updates that are currently rolling out. Nobody can tell you exactly when though.
  47. Jules22

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

This is 100% correct. No parking assist should ever replace the obligation to use your eyes and I would never rely solely on any system. That said they do help with overall situational awareness and are good as a suplement to basic driving skills.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

There we go. This is the issue with 360 view, in the corners and particularly when you have objects very close (ie the times when it would actually be useful) this is where the image is the most skewed and you don't get an accurate representation at all.
  49. Jules22

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

The point is not to make pretty blobs, this is much more accurate than warped and stitched together 360 views which have been proven highly fallible. I'll take useful over pretty any day of the week, also noting that the 3d vision will continue to evolve and get better over time but it's already...

Is this a "Houston, we have a problem" moment for Tesla?

Yeah, this seems to be quite common with almost all other lane keep functions, even the recent video of the Mercedes EQS, I almost felt sea sick just watching it attempting to maintain a lane and seeing how often they drift out of the lane even on the slightest bends, you would be constantly...
