Audible app does not show all books in library and does not remember last played location

Mine syncs listening position FROM phone TO Tesla (so when I get in the car it picks up where I left off when using the app on my phone), but not the other way (won't pick up the last position I heard in the car when I go to use the app on my phone). It's very frustrating! Can't find any help...

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Apparently there was some sort of heat sensor in the handle that provided feedback to the charging engine. If handle is overheating, slow down charge rate. The wet towel would cool the handle and 'defeat' the heat sensor. Seems like a pretty dumb thing to do. Does, however, support the...

I don't mind running to the back to pick up power - it's certainly the easiest approach. Anyway, I couldn't figure out how to tuck the cable under the trim, so I grabbed a roll of Velcro cable wrap from my box of tricks, and used it to stick the cable to the carpet just below the centre console...

I bought the Jowua 6D MagSafe Car Mount - which seems like A Good Thing. Very flexible in terms of phone orientation and location. MagSafe holds strongly. And it charges. 6D Tesla Compatible Invisible Foldaway Car Mount (MagSafe) for Tesla S/3/X/Y/Cybertruck The charging capability is...

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

S3XY Knob is not yet shipping for Highland. They needed to update the physical aspects for the newer car. I received the Commander and buttons a little while ago. They work as advertised. Resuming AP after lane change works (does not need/use buttons). It's great. I have so far installed just...

Says that. Isn't. Previous (pre-Highland) products were made in LHD and RHD versions. Difference is placement of the pivot on the bracket assembly, which has the effect of moving the centre of the screen left or right a bit. Manufacturer (I think there's probably one one actual manufacturer, and...

A couple more things happened today. First, this: Item is the 2024 Highland version of the central display swivel. Widely available on AliExpress for around $100. I bought locally for a bit extra for 'returnability' if needed. That said, I like it! It's not perfect. None of the Highland...

    Enhance Commander Unit Capabilities

Got an opportunity to try the auto-resume of auto-steer yesterday. It works. I will probably adjust the timing to one second.

Sorry. Can't find photo. Look in from outside and see if you can see signs of tabs that should slide from the back of the shelf into the structure behind the shelf. That's what I remember from the photo... the tabs had not slid into the slots, and had caused the shelf to bulge around the stop...

That does not look quite right to me. Should be flat all the way across. I've been trying (sorry, no success) to find the picture that was posted here or on FB of a poorly refitted shelf... If I locate it I'll link to it.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Was your car re-worked for the third tether point (new shelf installed)? I've seen some pics showing that several tabs at the back of the shelf that should be inserted into the structure have missed the slots, resulting in bowed-upwards shelf and rattles. Take a look through the base of the rear...

    Answer Signal calls on Tesla

Does that mount stay connected to the car on a hot day? Every mount with suction cup that I've ever tried has ended up with the phone crashing down on a hot day. Also, how did you route the charge cable? Thanks.

Very quick drive. Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

If the disabling of auto-steer when you change lanes bugs you, take a look at the EnhAuto Commander. (It's the brain behind the S3XY Buttons and S3XY Knob. But you can just install the Commander by itself if you like.) One of the functions is Continuous AutoPilot. I installed the Commander and...

    Australian Model 3 highland accessories

So this happened today: It's this item from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006381619324.html. It was $10 or $15 lower when I ordered a few weeks ago. This is the smallest unit I could find for Highland. I'd have happily bought one of those little displays that sits in the air...

    Australian Model 3 highland accessories

Hmmm... I might try one more thing (based on your suggestion to do the opposite of what you think). I tried putting the suction device LOWER to make it pull down lower. Maybe that has some impact on the way the mechanics of the pulling cam works. Perhaps if I try it HIGHER, it might be better...

When I got it to the point where I was happy with how things looked closed, the device was not able to pull the lid down far enough to latch it. Today I finally found the time to attempt to install the Frunk Suction device (an accessory to pull the front boot closed). 3D Vision is great. Also great is the ease with which you can control speed up hills or down slopes as you enter a tricky space. Easier than a conventional auto, and m-u-c-h easier than a DSG-style gearbox. Just so smooth.

Not sure whether it's been reported here yet, but Tesla Aus now offers mud flaps for Highland: https://shop.tesla.com/en_au/product/model-3-mud-flaps These appear to be quite large compared to many of the third party offerings. Fitting is also a little more difficult (a bolt as well as...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Though I've had the car for just 34 days, the pre-delivery process (and all the angst) has receded very quickly. Bit like the COVID years - no fun at the time, glad it's over and we have more-or-less moved on!

And here's one from a few weeks ago... Judging by the number of recently-registered Teslas on the roads in Sydney, I'd guess that they are delivering their little hearts out at the moment. Certainly my delivery experience was brief to the point of curt. And the car wasn't especially clean...

Took my first long-ish trip in an EV yesterday (the M3 is my first EV) - picking up my father in law from a Sydney hospital, delivering him to his home in Bowral (NSW southern highlands) and returning home (Sydney). Couple of interesting points in the discussion: Highland apparently has active shutters in the front (lower) grille. They will open and close as more or less cooling air is required for the gizzards. I'm pretty sure the Tesla guys said that they have added capability in s/w such that even if...

They're called wheel stops. There's an Australian Standard for them. (Hey, it's me, right...) They should be between 90mm and 100mm in height. At that height, it would be perfectly safe to approach with M3 forwards or backwards. Some shopping centres and other places have absurdly high wheel...

Speaking of bonnet... how close is the top lip of your bonnet (right in the middle) to the wiper arm. Mine is uncomfortably close. I'm worried that at speed in rain the bonnet may flex down just a fraction and touch the wiper arm.

I opened the flap to look under just to confirm that there's a tether there (there is). First use in anger (on the side, not in the centre) will be some time in the next week or two when the 'other' car goes to its new home. Grand-daughter can admire the Tesla from the outside until then.

I'm sure the Tesla Powerwall is a great product, and the integration is interesting... My solar system is different: three phase power (when we first installed ducted air con 20 years ago, you couldn't get a single phase system with the power we have... now you can) Fronius inverter Fronius...

    EV Energy plans - NSW

This seems to be a pretty true statement. No-one measure solar output based on panels... except Ovo. And 5kW of panels would be smaller than just about every new installation in the last couple of years. Methinks it's greenwashing: we don't really want solar customers at all, but we'll include...

    EV Energy plans - NSW

Greetings. Two things happened last week: I took delivery of my new M3 PowerShop wrote to tell me that they are cutting my feed-in tariff in half. Time to look for a good EV-supporting energy plan. PowerShop's plan has almost no benefits for an EV owner. OVO's plan looks great (8c/kWh...
