Sorry. Can't find photo. Look in from outside and see if you can see signs of tabs that should slide from the back of the shelf into the structure behind the shelf. That's what I remember from the photo... the tabs had not slid into the slots, and had caused the shelf to bulge around the stop...

Was your car re-worked for the third tether point (new shelf installed)? I've seen some pics showing that several tabs at the back of the shelf that should be inserted into the structure have missed the slots, resulting in bowed-upwards shelf and rattles. Take a look through the base of the rear...

Doesn't all the existing gear remain as is, with the suction device bolted over the top (behind, if you like, viewed from the front) of the OEM latch? And the suction device just pulls closed?

Sincerely wish I could offer a helpful suggestion. I have the suction device in a box (one of many boxes of Tesla accessories) awaiting installation after my car arrives on Thursday. Very best wishes for figuring it out.
