Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Another Tesla innovation...suer duper law group. Having spent years in legal discovery I can say EM would be a very profitable client, he txt and post on X way way too much and everything is saved.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As doggyworld showed in the waymo thread it isn't much and Googles CFO has tripled down very recently on Waymo. It's a keeper and I promise that they know more about the numbers and business model than we do.

As far as I know the MVPs left because they were attacked by "honest members". Those sorts of posters have intellectual rigor. Kareri, petit, and on and on. FYI, those guys concerns have all played through to reality. But sure blame a clever troll than a rabid and intellectually dishonest...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Exactly. I want tesla to blow things out. I want to see the Tesla semi factory built 4 years ago. I would like to see 4 energy factories rather than staying at 1...for years. i would be very hopeful to see the lithium refinery built. The last things i need to see are f'ing robots and...

Hmmm....ok so you completely avoid the topic. Don't give a flip about Rivian- never bought Rivian stock. 4680 promises are for now just promises. Its a giant cell with slightly poorer energy density. Now CATL is actually doing something with the 4680 (supposedly 20% higher energy density)...

    Waymo

@Doggydogworld Thats interesting on Porat. I would add that Waymo has lots of interest from outside entities eager to purchase a larger slice of Waymo. I think google still has 90% but I am not sure.

because in the last 5 years you have seen any innovation from tesla?
  8. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

i would dispute that he delivered. He hyped, yes. There wasn't full delivery. 4680, solar roof, semi, fsd, all major projects with huge issues on delivery. The CT is at least launched, we will see if it scales. Covid production response was good. last 5 years...meh. Hype not much delivery.

He voted no the first time, people were not paying attention then. It is a terrible BOD, it was a ridiculous comp plan. It is bad for shareholders then and now.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think it is good proxy for TAM. Besides which I maintain that Waymo is going to get to the potentially profitable cities first, at scale, and so we'll have a better idea before Tesla launches.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

availability is never the issue in TaaS today. I mean I don't need to dive back into the question of TaaS again. If you examine transportation models...really look at them, look at TaaS and see see how much growth you expect instantly. I do expect constant growth, but slowly.
  15. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

TaaS -exist pretty much everywhere in the world. RT only change the price point. Uber is a USA proxy for TaaS. We can circle back in a couple of years and see if I'm right or not.
  16. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I understand your point, I don't think it's the point on which to focus, that's all. To me the big test is will RT drive an expansion of the TaaS market, I sincerely doubt it moves very much. For RT to actually matter to the stock price that's a huge question.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

you realize that Tesla is spending billions analyzing the data, right? Again, you have no idea how broken, or not, Waymos business model may become. I can state that I have at least some understanding that TaaS doesn't scale, quickly, beyond what Uber has done. It's a market, it could make a...
  19. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Well I agree to a point however, Uber makes profit in big metro regions I think that's not going to change with any TaaS provider. So the ability to service anywhere is a bit of a red herring. I could offer all the rides I can in Cartersville VA but there just isn't much demand, if any...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

well plus it's still all an experiment at this stage. Who knows what kind of costs they have, I do know Uber was a capital destroying pig for more than a decade but finally got to profitability after 13 years.
  21. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

fair enough. We'll see in 2 years where they are and compare to Tesla. I suspect we'll see Waymo beginning to deploy the fleet and Tesla to start going through permitting in CA. We have no idea where Waymos cost will be at scale nor what the market will hold if Tesla and Waymo go to a price...
  22. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Wow...so if a company does not make a profit in trial phase why scale it? So Uber..which took years and years and years to make first profit should have shut down to start with. Google...same thing, should never have pushed forward. Intel..no...stupid idea. Tesla..terrible idea. FSD by...

SpaceX Starship - IFT-4 - Starbase TX - Launch Thread and Post Launch Discussion

I have a day&night job so I sometimes miss things. I missed it but it sounds like it was incredible, we've got a helluva challenge on the ground in our east coast forests...maybe mass extinction of several species...sigh. Anyway, when I put my head up and see this..I smile. Maybe a brief...

  25. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think Waymo is being completely transparent in what they are doing. They have iterated constantly...just as Tesla did with car production. They iterated on sensors, on vehicles, on maps, on business model. They are doing a classic engineering progression. The direction is so so very clear...
  26. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The reason Waymo is not yet scaling is the intervention rate is still too high, the geo fence and service limit because of these issues. I think Tesla could do a Uber+ (basically where Waymo is going) but with Waymo already there too I don't see massive profits. There isn't a moat. Also, the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

He literally is the CEO of the company. If he says starting Semi production next year..4 years in a row...he's lying. He had no intent on that and no capability to do it. It was impossible because they didn't have 4680 going and the reason they didn't have 4680 was that they didn't staff it...
  28. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Or about things like the Semi being manufactured in a year when the plant had not even had concrete poured and when they had no batteries. Or when they had 100 people on 4680 and gave an estimate 2 years sooner than LG Pano or CATL with 1/10 the staffing and those companies made batteries for...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

They just did not invest in the 4680 team, the whole thing has basically been a sham. They had a 100 person team working on something that required 1000. That's really on you need to know... 100 person team to deliver a breakthrough new battery. EM is not an idiot. He knew it was not...

The business press is pretty happy with him but he's not the attention whore that EM is. I don't know about the forums, I am fully invested in my sustainable forestry business....sadly, wish I had a few thousands shares of Nvidia.
  31. N

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

He was clearly an idiot investor. That said....he's not wrong on his major thesis that EM has not delivered on many promises. As noted Autobidder is an exception as I think that is working and working well. The rest of it though spot on and that's the issue. EM failed to deliver on the 4680...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You seem to misunderstand the chart or the issue. The issue (for stockholders) is the lack of growth, in fact contraction. It needed to grow at 20-50% like it did from 2022 to 2023 but it is not, if you were worried that sales had fallen 50% than Tesla should be a $20 stock. If there is no...

Tesla sales continue downwards trend in Europe

The issue is that sales are not rising at +20% which is the growth story the planet needs to see and which tesla shareholders need to see. Tesla is priced as a very strong growth story and sales are not growing and it has nothing to do with red sea, etc. The entire time there have been lots of...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I wouldn't give anyone short term stock advice. However, lots of very savvy people have bailed out of Tesla after the twitter adventure and the lack of focus on EM part and then with a famous poster when they turned to common ad buying in the face of declining sales. So if you sell that's a...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'd say you were off the mark in some of those and if Tesla is turning to Cravath...well that is interesting and I'll leave it at that. Saying Ehrenphreis is independent is mind boggling to me, not just a business pal of EM but also a social pal that was hoping to participate in all of EMs...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I would say this shows the incredible valuations given to Ai. It also shows that EM is starting far short of the pole position. It also shows that EM can pump a stock valuation. You don't see mark Z launching a separate Ai company though do you? Or S Brin? Other than showing that EM...

I will add that TX jury cases are VERY plaintiff friendly in some courts. VERY. I am sort of shocked any company would want to move to TX, the TX plaintiff bar is ...strong. Also, i would add TX and IL are the two states where Judges have been notorious. But I have not, thankfully, been in...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

TX has no regs and in rural but arable portions of TX land is much much less expensive than in CA. Very little is owned by the government, mostly in private hands and many large landholdings- old ranchs that contain thousands of acres. Same reason wind is huge in TX. The flip side is the...

I don't get point 1 at all. 2- Don't think it is relevant-t's just so small a % that it doesn't move the needle and see point 3- Tesla apparently agrees that's why they plan to make a tiny RT 3- you have to have tens of millions of them. If they really want to make 2 person robotaxis then it...

Tesla sales continue downwards trend in Europe

That's not the investment question though is it? The investment question is this: Is tesla a dramatic growth story worth huge multiples vs other auto manufacturing companies. That's the issue, it needs high growth rates.

Tesla sales continue downwards trend in Europe

That's it. We can increase safety- especially in regards to drunk driving and walkers in urban areas but we won't impact greenhouse gas emissions without moving the fleet. Agree completely on multi-passenger issue, thats really the issue.

Tesla sales continue downwards trend in Europe

But isn't that also misleading? I mean the EU is forcing companies to sell EVs and those market share dynamics don't include any Chinese firms that are looking to capture 25% of the EU market (CCP mandate). I would say maybe the original article is misleading and they put Tesla in to draw...
