    Reviews of AWD vs. Cyberbeast?

Anyone drive both or see reviews comparing? I just got my invite. Like 6 months later than I would have jumped. Now the novelty has worn off, not sure it's worth paying a premium for Foundation series. These things are everywhere now. Would you buy it again?

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

I sat in M3P and can confirm the seats look great, but less comfortable than the standard seats. They are a little stiff. Might improve with wear. Even the base M3 is a blast to drive. So much more nimble than the S.

Anyone know where to test drive a M3P in CA? I called a few centers and they only have the LR.

Doesn't look good on the S IMO

    2024 Model S Base vs 2024 Model 3 Performance

The S is great, but carries a lot of weight into the corners. The suspension is not great. Not sure what the M3 refresh suspension is like, but most reviewers seem to like it.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

M3P Lease, 24 mo, 10k miles, in CA comes out to $872/mo including taxes with $3k due at signing. That works out to $23,982 all in. Cash price is $62,304 - $7500 tax credit = $54,804 That overall, means leasing x 2 years/20k miles use is 43.8% of the cost to own it outright if paying cash and...

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Out of Spec reviews (Kyle) prefers the M3P to the Plaid. For a drive to work car, I can see how smaller/lighter/more efficient makes sense. I'd say the Plaid is a great daily but heavy and can be fatiguing to drive if you have rough roads. I agree the MY was a dog in suspension a couple years...

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

The new Model 3 looks gorgeous in photos and in person. Tempting to get a M3P with the tax credit. Seems like a great "cheap" daily driver car, although not sure how it will feel downgrading from a Plaid. Wonder when they are available for test drives. My biggest complaint about the Plaid is...

I mean I guess you could have motorized stalks that can return to center position when commanded by software, but that seems quite complicated.
  16. O

Tesla added QuickSilver to the S/X order page last night

You get used to no stalks. No stalks allows for intelligent blinkers. I still prefer stalks. If it bothers you too much you can retrofit stalks.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

It's less about the money and more about having a car that is lighter, smaller, and more toss-able. Also the Model 3 cars have a lot more aftermarket accessories available.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

This is very helpful thank you. Car seems great 0-80 but seemed sluggish 60-95. That is only one aspect of car enjoyment. Overall, was the car fun to drive? I like the look, the fact that it's a nimble car, and the price compared to a Plaid. But the more I see the more I'm leaning towards just...

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

I'm watching a lot of reviews and although it's a great "all-around" car, I'm not seeing many smiles or people commenting it is a "fun" to drive car. Am I misreading this?

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

That would be nice. My next Plaid i'm wondering if I'll go with 19" for more range but that also eliminates CCB. Or the package with 20" CCB/wheels/tires. Or the 21" with CCB. I'm liking the stealth gray and new seats.

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

Surprising how much better people are saying track pack makes the brakes feel, yet others say it doesn't improve braking performance other than preventing fade with repeat stops. To clarify, by track pack do you mean brakes and tires package ($20k) or just the brakes?

How can you transfer that? I thought the transfer of FSD/UFSC ended in March?
  29. O

Plaid S or Highland Model 3 Performance

The Highland M3P needs about 300 more HP. I watched a few reviews and the reviewers seem to like the car but no one is blown away by the performance like the Plaid. Maybe the new Plaids get a better suspension? I have 21" on my current Plaid, wondering if the next one I should do 19s instead...

Plaid S or Highland Model 3 Performance

Interesting, I was under the impression that larger brakes would allow faster deceleration. As for limits of traction, I would assume the same limit applies to acceleration. Maybe a better ABS controller to modulate the limits. So in a perfectly tuned setup, acceleration and deceleration would...

Plaid S or Highland Model 3 Performance

Any idea on if the brakes on M3P are appropriate for the car? On the Plaid you really need the track package if you want the braking and acceleration balanced. The yoke is cool but I never got as good with it as a round steering wheel for spirited driving.
  32. O

Plaid S or Highland Model 3 Performance

I love the top end pull of the Plaid. The interior, hatchback, and cargo are nice. The range is nice. As a daily driver, it's a heavy car and not a great suspension despite the "adaptive air suspension". Sound system is nice. I also feel the FSD on Plaid isn't quite as good as FSD on M3. The...

Plaid S or Highland Model 3 Performance

Anyone who drives a Tesla Model S Plaid planning on getting a 2024 M3P Highland? The specs seem a bit underwhelming. The Plaid is a heavy car but a brute at any speed. Curious when M3P test drives will be available, and if anyone has driven both?

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

Oh new Plaids don't come with ultrasonic sensors? That would be super annoying. But maybe a front bumper camera makes up for it if you can see the wall. It's tempting but $16k a lot if I just keep the car another 1-2 years. If I was keeping it long term it would make sense. On the flip side it...

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

These are all great points. The only negatives seem to be the increased pedal travel until bite and the cost. Oh the third is the hassle of dealing with Tesla service center and their potential incompetence requiring a few back and forth visits, Uber rides, and wasted time. For me, in addition...

  41. O

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

After the horrible brakes, my #2 complaint about the Plaid is the poor suspension. A car of that class needs better. It needs an active suspension, or at least a passive suspension that works. The car lacks torsional stiffness. You can feel how unsettled the car gets on rough roads. I wonder if...

Adding solar to existing NEM 1.0 system options

I am not getting definitive answers regarding "reset the clock" for a NEM1 system when getting a new NEM2 interconnection agreement. Another confounder is some NEM3 websites refer to a proposed retroactive limit of NEM1 or NEM2 to 15 years. Not sure how that would be fair.
