Wow, I think I’m the worst off here. Looking at 10% battery degradation after 24,000 miles. P3D- with areo wheels. Charge every night at home to 80% usually. 250 @ 90% 279 @ 100% I’m thinking about contacting Tesla but I expect to get the standard “degradation is normal” response.

MCU1 is different than AP1. We have an AP 2 car with MCU1

HW3 computers ARE being rolled out. I have an MCU 1 car. It still gets software updates all the time despite being years old. No other car can hope for that. Not sure what that has to do with FSD?

No, I disconnected the main breaker so there is no way for power to flow back into the meter. I have been running all day, 12 hours now, like this and the app treats it like a grid outage. It would probably be illegal to do this while hooked up to the grid before the interconnection is...

They installed everything at the same time. I am waiting for the utility to come out and install the new smart meter and approve the interconnection. The city/county inspections are already completed.

I actually went ahead and did this. I made sure the batteries were on, then disconnected the grid and finally powered up the inverter. Been running great all day!

My utility is taking forever to approve my interconnection application and I am dying to test out my system (solar+pw). Is there any problem with disconnecting from the grid (turn off main breaker on meter) and powering up the system? I don’t see why there would be but perhaps my exuberance is...

Neither. I wouldn't really call this an error on Tesla's part, they adjusted pricing based on demand. I don't believe they owed anyone anything but I think it was certainly the right business move to offer the refund. This happens all the time in the dealership model. Prices can change...

I think these posts represent less than 1% of model 3 owners. I also think the percentage gets lower as production becomes more refined. My 8 works 99% of the time. The other 1% of the time the OS has killed the app and everything works again once I relaunch it. It’s an unpopular opinion but the phone key is one of my favorite features!

I no longer have the P90D, I now am driving a 100D. The trick is to just keep breaking your car and eventually you will end up with a good loaner :cool: But don’t get too excited. Even the brand new 100D feels like a downgrade :p (other than the speed of course!)

Did your car ever give you any more problems? Mine was sporadically throwing errors for a while and it looks like the entire CAN and everything connected to it will need to be replaced! lol o_O

For now I just feel comfortable saying that Tesla is taking very good care of me. I may be able to give an actual update in a few days.

Vin 50xx Delivery 2/16 DU and pyro fuse replaced I posted on it extensively in another thread Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Failed?

I’ve only had the car back for a few days but so far so good. Their conclusion was that most likely a wiring harness connection was loose. They reseated all the relevant connections and it’s been okay so far.

Please keep us updated. I’ve had 12V issues similar to you but the underlying cause was said to be missing CAN messages which caused the DC converter to disconnect and kill the 12V. I asked if it could be software related and they seemed to think no.

Well, as I said in a previous post I could not open my frunk with jumper cables or a 9V when my 12V system was apparently dead.. After I got my car back and it was working fine, I was easily able to pop the frunk with the 9V method. Still doesn’t explain why my SC said they were able to access...

Thought I would post a final update (hopefully). No real issue could be found with the car - they are saying there may have been a loose connection in the wiring harness which caused errors in the CAN and a subsequent disconnection from the 12V system. Happy to have the car back but nervous...

Well, I got a nice message from Fremont today apologizing for the situation. They are stating that the executive team is investigating the case and hope to have it resolved as soon as possible. Fingers crossed!

Interesting. This is exactly what happened to my car the first time it was in the shop. I hadn’t seen many people post about bad drive units. Hopefully it doesn’t turn out to be more common.

Yeah, well technically even though the 12V system failed the first time, they claim it was a malfunction of the drive unit that caused the 12V system to fail.... and the pyro fuse to blow... and the brake calipers to fail. More importantly, I really don't want to be stranded 300 miles away from...
