I’m really surprised there hasn’t been a news story related to the “software”/“homologation” issue people are posting about.

Mine was 5/28-6/14 this morning. Now it’s back to 5-12weeks from delivery (5/8). Hoping the timeline my SA gave me (posted earlier) is accurate.

Got this from my SA today. Order date was 5/8.

Old Wheel New Wheel Thumb bumps are more prominent and also I forgot to mention the stitching is different on the new wheel.

Having owned both, he big differences to me are the texture and the addition of 'thumb bumps' around 10-2 on the steering wheel. The texture is less smooth and has visible texture. The bumps weren't there on the leather wheel.

:/ Bummer. I hope you can figure it out, I have similar problems but not with plastic. Certain papers make it it hard for me to breathe.

Mine came off the line 7/15 and had the leather free wheel

This might sound weird but do you react to the AC/Motor coolant? It could be the plastic but you'd figure it would outgas within a year. If there is a small coolant leak somewhere it would always have the smell (coming through the vents). I had a VW Jetta TDI that had a very small coolant leak...

For sure not worth 600. But Im glad they moved to a more durable fabric. Its also has bit more texture so it doesnt slip as easy

Mine was the vegan wheel from the factory. The tweet makes it sound like production will be using the new steering wheels but they will offer a swap to those with a leather one.

I have the new steering wheel. It feels much better than the leather one (had that one for a year) I dont think it will scratch on my ring like the leather one did.

So you have the right idea but the wrong data. The 18" and 19" rims are essentially the same size. 235-45/18 and 235-40-19 difference is .1". youll get more of a difference from tire pressure. Also even with at 2 rev/mile difference (LOL .0026% difference) The 18" wheel is more efficient...

both wheels have the same outer tire diameter. The only size difference is that you trade an inch of rim for an inch of rubber

Just to clarify you are running the OEM 20" PS4S tires in NY in the winter? While low profile tires are more susceptible to road damage, if you are driving summer rubber in the winter that might be your issue. Michelin PS4S aren't rated to go below 45 degrees F and when they do they get stiff...

I was really surprised as well. Im working with the Tesla rep to redo the quote to use the 325 panels and add some northern facing panels to see what a full 100% offset would be. Once Im happy with a plan Ill try to see how far I can negotiate down.

Yeah. Its not bad but its not great either. I just got a quote from the other installer in the area that rivals Tesla (based on public permit data) and has great reviews that is much lower at $2.48/w before incentives. (355w Seraphim Panels with individual DC optimizers, SolarEdge Inverters, etc)

Single data point here. I got a quote back in august when I got my 3. I heard the news and got requoted yesterday. No change in price. 6.6kw @ $21763 for a price of $3.29/w installed before the rebate. This is in PA
