    24.4.0 Gateway crashes

Funny thing, I was running on Ethernet for the past three years and it started getting very unstable and rebooting all the time. Only turned the WiFi back on as an experiment.

    24.4.0 Gateway crashes

And now the WiFi can't find any available networks. Junky network module just locks up!

    24.4.0 Gateway crashes

10 days with no issues and now 2 reboots in the last 12 hours. The randomness is bizarre.

Ultra Red: What Made You Pay Premium For It?

Personally $2000 might be worth it, but $9500 definitely isn't (if you lose the tax credit due to paint colors).

Tesla Gateway (V2) Breaker Tripped Last Night

Better question is why didn't they know that one of the units failed a firmware update!

    Netzero App

PW3 seem more secure since they hide the password, but with PW+ the password is printed on the cover and it's only five characters anyway. A lot of the devices are located outside and easily accessible. You certainly can lock the covers, but most people aren't going to do that.

Tesla Gateway (V2) Breaker Tripped Last Night

Did you get an alert in the app that the grid was down? Very unusual for the Gateway breaker to trip. Breakers do go bad sometimes, so also something to have Tesla (or an electrician) check out.

    Netzero App

Yeah they clearly don't want people actually finding out when their systems go down! Or were never installed properly in the first place. I've become an expert troubleshooter with my system. Easier and faster than trying to get Tesla to a) understand the issue, b) send someone out, c) explain...

Contact for following up on Tesla Order?

Usually within the limits of your utility. If your utility doesn't care, then Tesla will often sell you whatever you want.

    Netzero App

I got it working. Looks like your app makes the decision to use local api or tedapi based on the QR Code button. Someone posted an online QR Code generator so I didn't have to go outside. Created the QR Code, printed it out, scanned it with Netzero and it pulled the tedapi data. Finally able to...

    is this low production?

Agreed. The issue appears to be somewhere on your roof. Everything at your inverters looks as expected based on your strings. Call (877) 961-7652. Option 2 I think. The Powerwall support people are much more responsive than the normal solar people. Tell them you have a whole string...

    Netzero App

I understand why it needs 192.168.91.1, but why does it require the QR code? Shouldn't connecting to the Gateway WiFi and using that IP address work the same way? Or is that just how the logic is coded in the app?
  14. jgleigh

    is this low production?

Very surprised they don't show which panels are hooked into which MPx. Mine is very detailed with panels, expected voltages, and expected currents. Maybe they're getting lazy and not showing the customers the full plans anymore? That being said, correct me if I'm wrong but it appears you should...

    Netzero App

I'll have to try again. I was only seeing one of my two PW+ when connected to the Gateway WiFi like it was using the old local API and not the tedapi. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong on my end or not. I can see the strings on both PW+ when connected through Tesla One. Oh, maybe I...

    Powerwall 3 - Version 24.4.2-1 to 24.12.3.

Also hasn't talked about a FW version in over a year. Most of the limited notes are about the Tesla app itself.
  17. jgleigh

    is this low production?

@ajdadja Definitely request the Full Plan Set. That'll show how your system is wired and will make it much easier to correlate to the PW+ numbers to see where the issue is.
  18. jgleigh

    Netzero App

Does Netzero have support for the tedapi (Tesla One/Tesla Pros)? The normal local API only shows the first PW+ (I have two) every since FW 23.44.x.

    System down - production compensation

I'm mad I missed 7 hours of production yesterday cause my system locked up in the morning and I was too busy at work to notice!
  21. jgleigh

    System down - production compensation

The warranty is to fix the system, not compensate for lost production. Just like if your car failed, they're typically not paying for your loss of not being able to drive.

Tesla power wall in Tesla app. What am I really seeing?

Every house is different. I have a larger house and at night it varies between 0.5-1kW. If everything is off and you're pulling 1.5kW, you're either missing something or the monitoring is confused.

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

Surge protection is all about risk mitigation. Most systems can't survive a direct lightning strike. Even a close strike can shift the potential of the ground enough to fry electronics. Layered surge protection is also a good idea. Type 1/2 for the house and then additional surge protectors...

Tesla power wall in Tesla app. What am I really seeing?

Looks like Sense solar reporting is off by the same 1.4kW. Might have to start doing current measurements in your electrical panels to see where the error is occuring.

Tesla power wall in Tesla app. What am I really seeing?

Could you explain more and/or provide some pics? Normally that would mean something isn't being monitored correctly. 1.5kW is a lot.

Probably misconfigured CTs (current transformers). Unfortunately very typical on new installs.

    FSD v12.4

Not really. It will slide left when passing a semi, but often gets very close before it decides to move. And it only works for very large trucks. I want to tell it to stay near the left lane edge all the time when in the left-most lane.
  34. jgleigh

    Powerwalls ignoring settings

Tesla usually uses transformer. Both can be correct depending on the actual device.

    FSD v12.4

OMG could Tesla please add this! I hate being centered in the lane while driving in the left-most or right-most lane. Need as much room between me and the idiots on their phones weaving between the lane lines.

How to Use Tesla Pro App as End User?

Do you have a Tesla account? That might be part of the issue. When I log into Tesla One it just redirects to a Tesla site. Tesla One is really an app for installers, but it can give you more details into how the system is working than is normally displayed for customers. Do you have the regular...

    24.4.0 Gateway crashes

The mystery continues. Today I had two longer than usual dropouts of the Gateway connection. 16 minutes and 14 minutes. And it only rebooted during the longer first outage and not the second outage.

    24.4.0 Gateway crashes

Interesting that you're still on 23.44.0. As usual they never say what changed or when there's a rollback. Did you get 23.44.0 on 4/28 or was that just a reboot cycle?

Thoughts on Superchargers After a 2300 mile trip

PlugShare is very handy and I also use Chargeway. Chargeway allows very fine filtering on plug types and output levels so you can customize the map view to what you're looking for. Tucson, AZ to Los Angeles, CA had a similar lack of chargers six years ago. If a given charger was down or full...

    24.4.0 Gateway crashes

Anyone else experiencing a lot more Gateway 2 crashes with 24.4.0? My system is almost three years old, but recently I've been seeing a lot of Gateway reboots. Normally this only happens when there's a new firmware install (or the rare lockup), but now I'm seeing them every few days. Very...
