What's people's experience with the M3, towbar bike carriers and bikes?

Just installed a trailer hitch on my 2018 M3 AWD along with a Thule Camber two-bike rack. Needed to buy a crossbar for my step-through. Looking forward to being able to take my bike out on adventures. 🙃

Question about Charging new Model 3

Think about a 50 amp line if you can. It will bring the charging rate up to about 29 mph.

2019 Long range or new 2023 standard range?

No brainer. Long Range with 19K is a sweet deal if everything checks out. 🙃

Model 3 charging every night, even when I tell it not to?

I don't know enough about the preconditioning or turning off the charging. But, I do know that keeping your Tesla at 90% or often charging to 100% is not a good idea, especially since you're only using 10% to get to work. The conventional wisdom is charge to 80%. Just say'in.

Big difference between the range and predicted mileage

Yup. Your first good lesson is asking that question. Keep reading about how to manage range and pay attention to your own experience. Then, in time, you'll become a pro and teach others. It's not very hard.

How often should I check the air in my tires?

When curious about air pressure, simply press the right hand roller and say "Show tire pressure." Presto, the screen shows all four tire pressures. Need air, add. Repeat as necessary. 🙃

Excellent article on the Model 3.

Very well written. The comparison doesn't feel quite right but now I'm interested in an electric version of the Citroen DS. HELLO France. Are you listening.

    ChargePoint charging station

Hum. I bought a CHAdeMO charger a few years ago in anticipation of traveling to Nova Scotia. (Haven't gone yet.) I keep it in the trunk well...just in case. I did try it out once at an EVgo facility. While it was somewhat cumbersome, it did make the handshake and charged successfully. That's all...

Vendor How to increase your Tesla storage space? We make it

I'm looking for something larger than the back-of-seat trash holder. I need to store the tray I connect to my steering wheel when having coffee and a sandwich or reading the news on my iPad. It's 11" x 16.5" x .79". See link...

Has Tesla Build quality improved on new Model 3s in 2022?

My car is a late 2018 build M3 AWD LR. I've had zero problems with the exception of needing to replace the 12V battery.

Model 3 portable charging cable for New Zealand.

Thanks Meloccom. I drive a late 2018 M3 so there potentially could be an issue with a CCS1 adapter. I'm aware of the S. Korean adapter but have chosen not to get one as I also have a Chademo adapter. Waiting for Tesla's solution and roll out of a comparable CCS adapter. Suspect it will come...

Model 3 portable charging cable for New Zealand.

Lucky you. Sure wish the CCS standard was available in the U.S. Tesla is in the process of opening its Super Chargers up to non-Tesla cars, a good thing. Unfortunately, there's no CCS converter available in the States for Teslas, yet. ;)

    EV newbie with Teslaesque questions

All of the above advice is good. I've had my M3 AWD LR for 3½ years. No problems. Hope you get your car sooner rather than later.

How much did you pay for property tax and registration?

My property tax in CT for my 2018 M3 AWD Dual Motor is $1,122.46.

Going to order a new Model 3 performance. Should I consider the long range AWD?

Don't even consider the performance. Just order the AWD LR. Next question?

I have a Bandit front plate bracket. It's awesome. Don't know if they are still available. Got mine in 2018. Maybe do a Google search. Good luck.

2018 model 3 change brake fluid flush

Have an appointment next week at 25K for break system check at Tesla Service. Fortunately, it's convenient. Having tires rotated and HEPA filter changed as well. Don't know if mobile service can accomplish that. Brake fluid check and brake check are among the few maintenance chores recommended...

    CHAdeMO

As mentioned in an earlier post, I got the CHAdeMO adapter from Tesla in 2019 for my 2018 M3 AWD LR. Planning a drive to Nova Scotia this summer from N.E. and CHAdeMO is available in many places allowing me not to worry about Superchargers. Don't think there's one south/west of Halifax toward...

    CHAdeMO

I have had a CHAdeMO adapter since 2019. I keep it in the boot along with a spare NEMA 1450 cable & plug. I've used it on occasion but favor the Tesla Superchargers. It's an expensive backup, about $450, but worth it if you need a DC Fast charge when you're out of range of a Supercharger. The...

Mobile Connector no longer included with new cars [posted 04/16/2022 - Tesla confirms adapter included with cars ordered before 04/17/22]

Dryer plugs seem to be the equivalent of NEMA 14-50. My electrician (twice) installed the same plug for my garage as the dryer in the house. I'm neither an electrician nor a code monitor. All I can say is, "Works great."

What a bad % # & * ! @ + idea. Stupid. Boo. 🤬 I have a NEMA 1450 in my garage and use the cable and plug that came with my 2028 Dual Motor. 90% of my charging is at home. I have another cable and plug kit in the well of the boot which I use when visiting my son. There, I slip open the laundry...
