How many Tesla's in New Zealand

Hey @Miggy do you have a running total of the number of Teslas in NZ over time?

It wouldn’t just be the sum of registrations over time, due to Teslas being removed from the fleet by being written off or exported.

Cheers!
Not sure, but someone else may know more about this.
On CarJam NZ it has yearly totals and I think written off cars are deregistered.

With the rebates ending, there were likely a number of purchases brought forward. Sales will probably return to a more normal albeit lower level than before in a few months or quarters.

Interestingly, in NSW at least, the removal of the short-lived rebates we had seem to have had very little effect on the sales growth of EVs. February and March this year are the two highest-selling BEV months ever.

I know that provided a purchase contract was entered into prior to 1 Jan 2024, the rebates were still payable on delivery, but I would have thought that all would have flowed through by now and if there was going to be a post-rebate-related slump then March would have been it. But nothing doing so far.

336 MYYTD +
185 M3YTD =
521 YTD + grey imports of exotic models.

So not understanding the 445 Total YTD number

And did Kiwis know this before voting? 🤔
everyone gets fooled by politicians.... we did better pick last two terms, this time it was all misleading promises of change and free money (TAX) - but now after 1000s of people getting redundant in government, heaps of services pulled back, transport and key future project being cancelled, and having all of that making ripple effects through private organisations and rest of economy.... ultimately also showing off in EV numbers - so kind of going backward in climate commitment.

Hope people get back to moving forward in EV and climate action direction.
