Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

Got Tein EnduraPro Plus installed with stock springs for $300, kept stock bump stops without cutting.

Don’t feel much difference from stock shocks since I set as 6/8 because if set higher then 8 in front or back it will be unstable on highway speeds if there are any dips or bumps the car will wobble like crazy feel like loose control.

Recommend 6/8 for highway and if you just stay in city can set higher.

Rear is a pain to adjust once it’s on the car but it is possible to adjust without taking off the wheel. You will need to peel back the wheel cover with one hand and stick other hand into the gap.
Did you have a 2023 with the new suspension or were you coming for the old suspension?

I got these installed on my 2022 MYP. First 2-4 weeks was absolutely magnificent. Ride was quite good. Not luxury levels but I had no issues with ride for the first time in a year of ownership.

Then about a month later, it's not as good anymore. The ride is a bit more bumpy and harsh, similar to before. Not sure what happened... Is this normal?

You’ve probably just got used to it. Try softening them up a bit more.

22 MYP owner here as well. I felt the same as you in the beginning, but I just got used to the ride after a while and wanted more.

So I adjusted the fronts and rears two clicks more (12F, 14R) and now it’s perfect for me and my family.

Got a reply from Tein support regarding the boot cup/collars that don’t fit:

Good morning,

In regards to that lower cup, it is not needed on the endurapro. However you still will want to add the dust boots.

I recently spoke to Tein about the unsecure dust cover, they appear to be working on a solution.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you.

For the dust boot, unfortunately, there is no way to secure them as you
are using an aftermarket damper, we are currently in the process of
redesigning the dampers to be able to have the dust boot secured properly.

We hope this information helps!

I have decided to get the Tein EnduraPro Plus shocks for my 2022 M3 LR. I am not confident I can do the work myself so I need someone I can trust to install these and adjust them per the manufacturer's instructions. Does anyone have any recommendations, or how I might go about finding a trustworthy mechanic in this area or are there any national chains that I could trust to work on a my Tesla?

Typically the work is done by suspension tuning kind of shops … they work on high end cars for off road tuning etc. depending on where you are - you can google and call them to check if they have done this work. The shop I went to was an authorized Tein dealer in Manassas VA

I had the shocks installed a few days ago in Seattle. I am not getting what I expected and hope someone can help me understand what I am experiencing. First, road noise is significantly worse. While driving through the mountain pass east of Seattle, it was not possible to have a conversation in the car. Second, I asked the installer to set the shocks at the softest setting of 16. The car bounced around so much it kept cancelling FSD. Finally, the ride over the horrible roads here in Spokane is better, but not by much. I can't honestly say this was worth the time and expense.

Maybe you still have it set to too soft? I ran the softest setting too, but was too bouncy and amplified large bumps instead of dulled them out. The softest I could go without worsening the ride was 10Front 12 rear. I don’t have the Endurapro anymore, I switched to ST XA coilovers and dropped the ride 1.5”. The coilover springs and damper combination actually made my ride 50% more comfortable than the Tein dampers and stock springs despite the height drop, I’m currently riding full soft 18/18 ok both front and back, it does not bounce at full soft like the Teins did. Maybe consider upgrading to the full coilover set from ST XA or MPP fixed dampening, they are both around $1600. Are you on stock springs or lowering springs?

I am on stock springs. If I was interested in altering the height, I would go higher not lower. Can you point me to instructions for how to adjust the shocks once they are on the car?

I found these. I think I can handle the front. Not so sure about the rear.
Front
Rear
Yeah front is easy to access, I found the easiest way to access the rear is to unbolt the two 15mm bolts holding the top hat to the chassis, then compress the shock down twist a little and pull it out of the fender lining. You do not need to remove the lower 21mm bolt. If you have a child they can stick their fingers in between the top hat and chassis, you can pull the rubber cover off and barely have enough room to turn the knob. I tried it that way at first, but my fingers were a bit fat and it was a struggle and my fingers kept cramping up because of the awkward position, plus the rubber cover was really hard to put back on, unbolting the tophats seems like more work, but twisting the knobs was so much easier that way.

I've done my rears a few times now by just getting my fingers in above the top mount. 42 years old, fingers not particularly narrow or wiry.

It just takes a bit of patience to feel the 'clicks'. Don't do it on a cold day.
